You are correct regarding https://events.uindy.edu/events/featured/; that works as expected. The problem is that the theme or plugin doesn’t show those events on the home page, events.uindy.edu, under the “Featured Events” heading.
If I change the events that are shown on https://events.uindy.edu/events/featured/ to have dates before 11/16/2017, they will show on events.uindy.edu under the “Featured Events” heading. Right now it is showing Kevin Radaker from 11/16 as an example.
Regarding the 2017 theme and no other plugins, I should be able to test this after Thanksgiving.
