How do I get the nightlies? I just downloaded Beta 2 from the announcement in these forums.

That’s disappointing; to develop a new theme you’d either have to install a web server, database, and PHP on your local computer or set up a new remote installation (including setting up a temporary mySQL database)…

Strikes me as a little ridiculous, when it shouldn’t be too difficult to implement user-specific theme displays for this purpose. (You could display the “test” theme for whatever registered user is developing the theme, and the selected “live” theme for everyone else).

Any chance of this feature making it into a future version?

If you don’t want to be connected to the Internet while composing your blog entires, you can do what I do: write them in a word processor first then just copy and paste it when you’re done. ??

Well, modifying the code isn’t really acceptable for me, since I like to upgrade WP often to the latest nightlies (and don’t really want to change the code every time).
Personally, I’m a little surprised this function is so inflexible, since the next_post and previous_post functions are so robust.

This has been a big complaint of mine for a while now, too. I sincerely hope the template functions lose the “echos” in the next major version.
