I think I have solved the problem (for me at least) by switching to Team Heator’s other social share plugin, Sassy Social Share. My YSlow (and PageSpeed) scores are the same before and after adding Sassy Social Share. :O)

I have always received helpful responses to my support requests (Pro version). I’m not sure why it was different for you all (I am not doubting you–just wondering what the variables are).

Sorry, I was trying to help others that might have a similar problem.

Apparently there were typos in the document, which have since been corrected. One does not need the TinyPNG API key.

Here is the updated verbiage in the EWWW Basic Configuration document:

JPG Optimization Level … Maximum Lossy Compression – Saves an average of 50% with minimal quality loss, requires an EWWW IO API key.

PNG Optimization Level … Maximum Lossy Compression – Compresses PNG images even better than Pngquant with minimal quality loss, requires an EWWW IO API key.

Are you referring to the Cloud optimization API Key that you enter under Basic Settings?

If so, when you enter your API Key and click the Save Changes button, what do you see for Cloud optimization API Key: (under Plugin Status up top)?

I had the same question.

From a usability/user experience standpoint, telling users how to use the plugin would be helpful. I suggest adding one sentence to the Description, FAQ, and in the plugin’s description within wp-admin.

“To access Theme Check, go to Appearance > Theme Check.”

I added the code as you recommended and it looks like it got rid of one of the culprits.

My current Pingdom results:

Sorry, I had deactivated the AddThis plugins when I was trouble-shooting another problem.

Everything you suggested makes sense to me. I forgot to say that I had cleared cache for JCH-Optimize and WP Super Cache, but I had not done it for MaxCDN – great suggestion!

JCH-Optimize has an option in the Pro version (which is quite good btw) to exclude selected files from minify and such, so I will give that a try.
