I heard back from the plugin developer via email in less than 24 hours. Great support!

The issue was I did not have Auto Return set on my Profile at PayPal.com. Without this setting customers have to click a link back to the website at the end of the checkout process. If they did not do this, their purchase was not saved in the database and they did not receive a confirmation email. With Auto Return set, customers are now automatically redirected back to the website and their purchase is recorded into the database and the confirmation email is sent.

I have multiple donation options on the website and did not want all of them automatically redirecting to the same confirmation page, so I did not have Auto Return set. However, I have learned that if you provide a return URL in your button code, it overrides the default Auto Return URL you set at PayPal.com. Learn more about Auto Return on PayPal.com (Override Details).

I installed 3.1.1, instead of 3.1.3 and got the following error message: “BackUpWordPress requires PHP version 5.3.2 or later and WordPress version 3.9.3 or later to run. It has not been activated. Learn more.” I checked and this client’s server was below 5.3.2. I’m assuming this is probably what is happening with 3.1.3, but we just aren’t getting a helpful error message.

I am getting the same error for an install using WordPress 4.0.1. Updated to 4.1 and getting the same error. Tried deleting the plugin and re-installing it, but still getting the error about line 34.

I just spoke to First Data customer support. Connect 2.0 is their legacy gateway. All new customers are setup with the E4 Gatway and don’t have access to anything related to Connect 2.0.

As you noticed, here are the docs for E4: https://firstdata.zendesk.com/home.

Any chance of getting E4 integrated with your plugin? Your plugin is the only event plugin I found that offered out-of-the-box support for First Data, so it was unfortunate when I realized that is doesn’t support First Data’s primary gateway solution.

Thank you for this great plugin and I hope I’ll be able to use it.

    With appreciation, Mark
