Try to use Zinmag (Futura or Redux) https://topwpthemes.com/zinmag/ and https://topwpthemes.com/zinmag-futura/ . Yoy can also find a lot of themes on Google Search *free wordpress themes* so check what is the best for you.

index.php is Main index, in your theme folder.. Yes it is different.

I hope you have solved the problem. Anyway, you can download style.css with some FTP program, change what you need in Notebook, and upload file back.

I hope you have solved the problem, but i had the same, and i solved it.

I couldn’t remove/change widget in my sidebar. I removed all plugins (I turned them off) and then i successdully changed the widged which is in wordpress by default. I hope this can help you to solve your problem.

If you alredy solved this, it can stay for someone else who has the same problem. ??
