In reply to: [MSTW League Manager] Standings not showing like it shouldSince you are posting here, I will assume you are using the free MSTW League Manage and are not using the LM Add-ons. (Your options are a bit different with the Add-ons.) If you are using the LM Add-ons, please create a new thread on shoalsummitsolutions.com LM support forum.
Some questions (for the free MSTW League Manager on this site):
1. Did you update the settings for Standings? (Remember standings settings are set by SPORT, not league.) I did you update the records for the teams in your league and include the fields that you want to display (including Rank)?
2. Did you update the settings for the Standings Tables and indicate what fields you want to display and what order you want to arrange them? (Again these settings are set by SPORT.)There is some pretty good documentation on League Standings tables in the Users Manuals on shoalsummitsolutions.com. If you are an MSTW Gold Support member, there is also a video tutorial available on standings tables.

In reply to: [MSTW League Manager] permalink display not workingHi,
A 404 error means a page couldn’t be found on the server. What leads you to believe the above page SHOULD be found? I must admit that I’m a bit confused. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Display a team? Display a team roster? A team’s schedule? Please give me a reference to what you’re after in the documentation and I’ll try to help however I can.-Mark

In reply to: [MSTW Schedule Builder] Allow Team Admins To Update ScoresActually the capability for this exists in the Add-ons to MSTW League Manager. There are Team Admins, School Admins, and League Admins. All log into the WP backend, but they only see a couple of League Manager menu options, not the entire WP admin mess. Team admins can change game data for a specified team. School admins can change game data for all teams in all sports in their school (or organization if you will).League admins can mess with all games in a given league. Despite numerous requests for this (“Wouldn’t this be cool!?”). It appears, based on the lack of questions and/or bug reports on it, no one has really used it. It’s probably too hard to get set up, figure out who you are going to trust to do what, then train the trusted people on what to do when.

In reply to: [MSTW Schedule Builder] Games Do Not AppearI believe there’s something going on here and I’m looking at it. But you don’t need to manually update each game. If you go to League Manager -> Update Games (not Manage Games) or Schedule Builder -> Update Games you can update (something like) 20 games at once. And I don’t believe you have to change anthing, just click Update Games. Stay tuned for more information, but given this multi-game update capability, this is not a huge issue.

In reply to: [MSTW Schedule Builder] Location Does Not AppearIt appears that you are using “Home Team Location” not League location for your games. Yes, there is a bug and I’m working on it.

In reply to: [MSTW League Manager] Counting points in overtime#1 This thread is CLOSED. Please do not use it again. There will be no response.
#2 There is no transaction on my PayPal account on that date with that transaction ID or that user name. The comma in $29,00 is a dead giveaway. That’s not the way US dollars are expressed by PayPal. So you can’t make posts on my site because you are not a paid user. If you wish to purchase the plugin feel free to do so.

In reply to: [MSTW League Manager] Counting points in overtimeThis is a question about LM Add-ons functionality. I can’t discuss the LM Add-ons on this site because it’s not a free WP plugin. Please repost your question on https://shoalsummitsolutions.com/forums/. I will be happy to help you there. When you do, I would like to see the Update games admin screen for that league. The front end page can be misleading, there’s a lot going on here. Thanks for understanding.

In reply to: [MSTW League Manager] Gme page is going to the venue pageThanks for the info it helps. There are a few problems here:
First, page inspection inside chrome is disabled (sort of). I suspect your theme (or a plugin maybe?) is disabling the JavaScript for right mouse clicks. I can get around it easily but it’s a pain to navigate around your site.
Some very strange things are happening with the plugin on your site. For one example, every row in the Time/Result column has two rows. All but the Texas game have some strange numbers that look like scores. The Texas game has the text “Texas”. I looked at the plugin’s source code and I can’t see how/where plugin adds this. (Actually, I know exactly where the game results come from and no such line with a break is generated.) It could be done by the theme. (Stranger things have been done by themes.)
So I suggest that you start by switching your site to a different theme, say WordPress Twenty Eleven. (I know, it’s really old but there are reasons I suggest it.) Does anything change relative to the above issues? (The plugin’s displays may not look perfect, but there’s no need to clean that up.)
Next some things may be a bit wonky with your data and your approach to the data and displays. IDK, but let’s start with the following. It looks like you are creating a schedule for the Big 12, then displaying a schedule for the BYU team? You created a BYU LEAGUE and are displaying the games for the LEAGUE not the TEAM. (??) I suggest you create a Big-12 LEAGUE, add the games to that LEAGUE, then display the TEAM schedule for BYU (or any other team) using the mstw_team_schedule shortcode. That works pretty well, check it out at https://dev.shoalsummitsolutions.com/lm-team-schedules/. And it will really provide you with a lot more flexibility.
As far as the links you describe, I have no idea. For example, if you change https://justinjenkins.info/texas-10-28-2023 to https://justinjenkins.info/lm-game/texas-10-28-2023 it works fine, and that’s what the source code creates.
Have you looked at the documentation library located here https://shoalsummitsolutions.com/category/users-manuals/lm-plugin/ ? It’s not 100% but it’s got a lot of good information. There are also many video tutorials on the League Manager plugin, which are available to Gold Support members. (Truthfully, the tutorials probably cover more advanced topics than you need to resolve you current issues.
Let me know. I’ll help how I can.

In reply to: [Team Rosters] Is there a search function?I have some time to do it. I’m looking at how to do it so it would be useful to the larger user base. (In general a user who needs a feature contributes a bit for it, but nothing near the entire cost. In exchange for not paying the full amount, the user doesn’t ask for any rights to the result. There have been users who pay for the whole thing and then want to own the result, but that’s rare.) Anyway, what are your thoughts on exactly what the search funtion would do. Pick a team (from a drop down list) then search for a player using a text box? Just a text box to search for a player? Then what would you see? A list of players that match the search? Then what? You click on a player and see their bio page?
Let me know your thoughts.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Team Rosters] Is there a search function?Short answer: not really
Longer answer: there are some options:
- If you use the player gallery (shortcode or taxonomy) for a team and you selecte a player, you get a player page like this one: https://dev.shoalsummitsolutions.com/player/aaron-rodgers/?roster_type=college&team=cal-bears which has sort of a search box and the top left listing all the players on a team.
- If you use roster tables you can sort by number and name, which isn’t exactly a search but it could be useful https://dev.shoalsummitsolutions.com/test-roster-plugin/
- If you use roster tables 2 you can sort by all the data fields. https://dev.shoalsummitsolutions.com/team-rosters-2/
It would not be hard to write a search function by team and player. Pretty easy really. I’ll add it to “the list”. When would you need such a thing?

In reply to: [MSTW League Manager] Gme page is going to the venue pageThis is interesting. The link should read siteURL/lm-game/game-permalink, NOT siteURL/lm-team/game-permalink. So something is really not right. I’ll be happy to try to help you with this and if there’s a bug, I’ll fix it ASAP. (It looks good on my sites, check out https://dev.shoalsummitsolutions.com/lm-schedule-tables/ )
Let’s start with some basic questions:
- What plugin and version are you using? (If you are using LM Addons please move this thread to that plugin’s support forum at shoalsummitsolutions.com.)
- What version of WordPress and PHP is your site using?
- What exact incantation of which shortcode are you using?
- Please double check the game permalink (we can stick with Texas game in BYU’s 2023 schedule) and the setting (although I doubt that’s the issue here). (BTW, ‘texas’ is not a good choice for a GAME permalink. Texas is going to be in many games on many dates in many schedules.)
Thanks,

In reply to: [Team Rosters] Is there a search function?I’m not sure I understand your question? Are you talking about the front end or the back end? Which screens? For example, on the Manage Players admin screen you can search for a player in the search box and the top right side of the screen.
