I hope we keep smarty templates simple, sticking to something like blogger-style tags. Applying too much of all those logic thingies built into the smarty system could be a big stumbling block for those starting with PHP and WordPress.

Hmm, I’ll look into it. Haven’t encountered that before. Were you able to post links earlier before this error happened? I’m not quite sure what could be the problem. Try re-uploading the file recent-links.php, maybe it was corrupted.

Will try to make a bookmarklet. ?? I didn’t try to create one because I don’t use bookmarklets that much. I think that would be fairly simple, it should be included when I update the hack soon.

You have to use all of them, and not comment ( // ) any of them. If you had previous rewrite rules, that could be the reason for the conflict.

I’m just as confused right now on the new plugin architecture. I just downloaded the current nightly (2004-03-26) and its already there (the plugin stuff), I will study it later. ??

It wouldn’t work all the time, because some people want their “publish timestamp” based on the server time, or maybe the timezone they’re in. And sometimes the host you’re using has their time set to something not related to they’re timezone.

NM: Maybe we should use wordpress on those mars landers for better communications? ??

patrick, i had the same problem as yours when i tested wp1.0 on my pc. if you want to simply make a fresh install, you can just comment line 28 of wp-settings.php, which contains the die() statement. it worked for my trial install.
