@donncha I can’t rule out anything right now nor identify the exact problem. But I’m sure that it manifested after the upgrade to wp-3.3.2 and wp-super-cache 1.0. I’ve enabled logging in PHP but no clues yet. I’ll let you guys know once I discover anything.

Using WP-Super-Cache 1.0, I also get an http error 500 when WP_CACHE is set to true in wp-config.php. I’m running a different system though, it’s on Nginx 1.2.0 on Ubuntu 8.04.4, with the latest PHP and WordPress. What makes it strange though is that I have another server with similar specs, but the error does not exist.

Hello kepano, TimBoucher. I tried looking into this problem but could not reproduce it at all. Technically, the plugin should not interfere with anything on the WP side.

I’d really appreciate it if you could try accessing the “Add Recent Links” page with all your plugins turned off, just to check if the error still exists.

By the way, wp-recent-links is now at version 2.06, though the recent changes had nothing to do with the bugs you mentioned.

I’ve never made the “updated” feature of the link manager work properly, so ever since wp-1.0 I just used a hack function, that uses a blo.gs blogroll file. It fetches your list of favorites every hour, so it displays the recent updated weblogs in your list. I have it in a very basic plugin format now, but haven’t packed for release. Let me know it someone here might need/want it so I’ll have it placed for download on my site.

Their ping url could probably be the culprit. Try to visit their site again and see if they somehow changed their ping url to something simpler.

It appears you are using clean URLs now, but I remember you using the old URL format, several weeks ago. Perhaps that is one of the reasons.

wp-recent-links 1.2 is now out, with an rss2 feed for syndicating your links.

You are using a nightly, right? This can be very confusing, since nightlies do change a lot. Try disabling mod_rewrite first, meaning, don’t use the clean url options in WP, then remove or rename your .htaccess file. That should help isolate the problem.
