Sorry for the slow reply. For some reason the notify on post doesn’t always reach me, so only seeing this now.

For me, where I had an admin menu item hidden in adminimize, but displayed in your plugin, it showed the menu title, but not the icon.

I don’t see this as a problem, since they are two plugins trying to do the same thing, so there should be only one. Your plugin does everything I need, so I have removed Adminimize.

Thought this was worth mentioning for berbercito or anyone else that notices this.

Last post tonight I promise ??

Just been doing some testing and it looks like you have replaced the default slug for customize.php on the left side and so it works. If the slug was also changed on the right side, then I think that would be it fixed (for me anyway ??

Hi gqevu6bsiz,

Think I have fixed it. If I click on the ‘Reset Settings’ button, I get the default menu back.

I can then start stripping down the menu. If I leave Customizer alone, it works. If I ever delete it, dragging the menu from the right brings the long slug across.

Are you planning to publish the beta? If so, I’ll wait for it to come out before updating my live site.

I followed your steps to remove the plugin and uploaded the beta. Removed the customize menu item, saved, then dragged the customize across again. The result is the same I’m afraid.

I’m not sure why I get a different slug. Mine says

customize.php?return=%2Fwp-admin%2Fadmin.php%3Fpage%3Dwp_admin_ui_customize_sidemenu%26wauc_msg%3Dupdate

I don’t know if this is going to help, but I will try deleting the plugin again and see if there is anything left in the database.

If you have any ideas as to why I get this, I’d really appreciate it!

Just to rule this out as being a plugin conflict, here’s what I’ve done

– Launched a new WordPress install
– Installed Members and WP Admin UI Customize plugins
– Created a new role and gave it all of the permissions
– Created a test user and set it to the new role
– Set the WP Admin UI Customize plugin to only apply changes to the new role
– Under Side menu removed everything except ‘Menus’ and ‘Customize’.

When I logged in as the test user, the Customize option isn’t there. Hope this helps? Happy to email you the login details to my test site if you would like to take a look.

I tried adding the capabilities (some I had already added), but it didn’t make a difference. I did some more experimenting and I think I know how to recreate the problem.

Under appearance, if you remove everything except ‘Menu’ and ‘Customize’ you might see the problem. I only have this issue, when I remove all but these two options.

Probably 6 months too late, but I noticed the same thing when I also had the Adminimize plugin installed. Maybe you have (or had) another branding/admin customisation plugin conflicting.

Same white screen here. Glad I decided to test on one site before rolling out to all. Have disabled the plugin by renaming the better-wp-security folder for now and will wait until issue fixed before re-testing.

Will the code change that you recommended over on Marco’s plugin page be implemented in the next plugin version release? I’m concerned that if I make the change on a number of sites, then forget about it, your next update will overwrite.

So sorry for not replying sooner! For some reason the email notifications don’t always make it to my inbox.

Firstly, there’s no need to apologise for any delay! With all your plugin contributions, it’s a wonder how you find time to get any work done ?? I am of course extremely grateful that you took the time to reply.

What you’ve suggested would work fine, except I am making full use of the widget areas on the home page and wanted to have a completely separate page showing the latest posts.

What I did was rename the default ‘uncategorized’ blog category to ‘Blog’ and then put a link to that category in the menu. This seems to have recreated what I would expect to see on a regular latest posts page, so I think I will stick with that.

As someone well connected in the Genesis world, have their been any whispers of a Prose 2.0? I heard Brian Gardner interviewed by Carrie Dills today on ‘Genesis Office Hours’ and he said that some of the older themes won’t get an update and will eventually be retired.

Anyway, thought I’d ask in case you had any inside info ??
