Hi David,
I have a similar task to achieve but I have not only 1 password protected page but a few of them (all nextgen pages with client galleries, all with password. What I need to achieve is to have a password page, where people type in a password and that opens the page with the gallery. Understand what I mean? We have a photography studio and we offer those client galleries, generated with nextgen and they all have a password. I have to find an easy way to access the gallery.

Next for any help.

I solved it. It was caused by a plugin called “WP Custom Post Templates”. It does not work with child themes. I found a solution for it myself.

Thank you. So the issue was that I did not drop the custom archive file in the child theme. That was because nothing else really worked when I tried to do such things within the child theme, so I did more and more changes in the main theme. I thought I can do that and that the child theme is only a good idea to save changes in case of theme updates. However, this time I should have moved the new file in the child theme.

I can now try to modify from here because right now, it uses the default style for displaying the posts. I wanted to create a grid (3 rows) for it but maybe this is too much of a challenge, at least for me.

Thank you for having that extra eye that is sometimes missing if working for too long on a certain project.

I thought it is just me. Does this really not clone the main, default site????? This is weird, right? I mean, isn’t this what we all want, to clone our main site to have an exact copy of it and then do our modifications? Hmmmm……..
