to be able to achieve this, we’d have to work in an option, that allows for the footnotes plugin output to be specifically queued after or before certain other plugins get to add their output. It is conceptually all planned but very hard to put into practice, since wordpress has their own interesting mechanisms on this. For now, I unfortunately have no practical solution for you, I guess. But we’ll eventually come back to this.

did you make sure, that all the footnotes settings are identical on both pages?
That’s about the only thing I can imagine how your described procedure could possibly not yield the desired results.

We have to take a look at your theme in conjunction with our plugin.
Unfortunately the Genesis Framework and the ZigZag theme are both paid for solutions.
How can we get our hands on the theme?

you can try “pagebuilder” plugins such as “page builder by siteorigin” or WR PageBuilder to add a custom widget.
Then you could create a custom widget, where you can put our footnotes widget.

We know how this works in WPML.

You can try using the mqtranslate tags. I know that qtranslate uses
<!--en-->sample post<!--/en>
to designate a language version and the corresponding content. You can try using the mqtranslate equivalent…

Hey you WPThemes guys.

I know this is all a free-of-charge effort. But how can a broken version of your theme end up in the repo and still be public after 2 days of realizing it is broken??

All plugins we develop get tested for basic functionality before they end up in the repo.
Even if I realize I screwed up with what ended up in the repo, I mark the working (= previous) version as stable.

I understand all who have strong feelings here but let’s cool down a bit and see the big picture for a moment.

It can’t be too hard for a developer to flip that one bit, now can it?

The responsible way of a developer would be to pull version 2.0.8 from the repo!
And mark 2.0.7 as stable otherwise they will all run into trouble…

obviously this is not a long-term solution. But I can understand your move.
As I have access to the Elegant Themes, I can try to reproduce your issue in our lab.
But this nut may take a while to be cracked.
