I think I’ve discovered my problem to be with generating a user through Gravity Forms User Add-On plugin. It has it own settings for whether or not emails should be sent. So I had to do everything through those settings instead.

So it was probably just those settings overriding the settings in your plugin.

I experience the same issue.

For me [password_url] just returns blank in the mail. So it seems like it renders the shortcode but don’t return a value (the link for setting the password).

The trigger is ‘New User – Post-registration Email’

I’m also on WordPress 5.3.2

but where do i put the html? as i see it right now the only chance of adding functionality to wordpress administration panel is creating a plugin.. is that the only way to do it?

OK, I tried changing the name of the folder, renamed the theme in the style.css and uploaded a fresh copy of twentyeleven… everything broke down and i needed to reinstall wordpress…
luckily i did it on a test site… tried a bit more times and seems like it goes wrong when i rename the theme folder
..on my almost live site the style.css already has a changed theme name to PE3A and it works fine…
any suggestions on what to do?

thanks to both of you … I’ve got all the files from my www directory backed up – just in case. Will try it later today. Hopefully I won’t have anymore questions ??

and editing the folder name wouldn’t harm my theme?

i want to be quite thorough on this since we have worked on the site for a while now and are almost ready to launch … would be a shame throwing it all away because of carelessness ??

yearh, I guess I was to quick to give up on this one (close to deadline stress or something ;)).. just found a plugin that seems to end my worries…

thanks Boris… this was just what I was looking for… I now have two nes problems on my site (it’s not aired yet so unfortunately I can’t link it right now)

1: I also feature som Pages. They don’t have the excerpt option by default! And i cant get it to work with a custom field… is there a workaround to have excerpts on pages?

2: My site is in Danish, therefore the “continue reading” that now (after changing the_content to the_excerpt) appears on my slider is not so good. Can I change this “Continue reading” message somehow?

I know I’ve written “is there a workaround” even though that with this great forum it is more like “what is the workaround” ??

I can easily remove the search form but I can’t insert a widget area in the header!
