your replies pushed me to dig deeper, and I found the key to the problem.
I just didn’t need to share using my own WP blog but also third parties platforms like Hootsuite or the like. I also need the social share buttons to work properly for readers.

Then we’ve got a happy ending: I disabled the social buttons of the WP theme and everything now works like a charm.

I had to install Blog2social as well but now I could also try to get rid of it and see if everything still works.

Anyway thanks so much for your support. Just in case I’ll stick to AIO for my new global website because swapping from Yoast to AIO with my Italian blog would be a nightmare losing all meta and keywords.

Again, you’re the best customer care ever! I’ll definitely suggest everyone revert to WP SEO first love, that’s AIO.

Thank you very much for your useful insight on the server issue. This is the kind of support and replies I really like. I checked the security tools on my cpanel and disabled the hotlink protection stuff. Now I can see the image on Facebook. But sadly nothing on Twitter and LinkedIn.

I’m sorry because I started to like AIO but I must try to reinstall Blog2social and see if it’s the answer to my problems.

There must something wrong somewhere but I don’t know where, htaccess and config are correctly configured.

Today I tried to start the 2nd and 3rd website https://www.maindomain.com/abc/
I get the same 404 error even trying to access the admin dashboard.

The only thing that works is when I move permalinks from the default one to the plain one:
https://www.maindomain.it/?p=123 In this way I can see the published pages otherwise published page always return 404 error.

But then I found out a REST API error:

Not Found
The requested URL was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Hello, checked everything according to instruction, tried several changes. Still nothing works as expected. Only draft pages can be seen as preview. Published pages I get the error as mentioned.

Yes I figured it out while I was typing since I thought I could try to look more carefully throughout the monitor. The problem remains when one edits the tab content and saves it. That doesn’t work. As I wrote it only works adding the tab from the main window of the plugin.

Thank you MarkRH, those two tags comes both from Yoast anyway. Yesterday Yoast wasn’t installed and the problem was already there.

I didn’t built the website, the owner just asked to help him fix this issue that, I’m quite sure, the web developer who runs the hosting service started, changing the WP theme code.
If you copy and paste a post url onto some socials you will see that each one of them shows different results.

Thanks, I’ve already done that. The problem doens’t affect only Facebook. The issue is with almost ALL social media channels as I wrote Google Plus, Linkedin, Pinterest… Each of them turns out differently when it comes to show the single post image and text content.
