In reply to: [WP-Appbox] Amazon app store links are not showingI have uploaded version 4.5.0, which now (again) uses the Amazon PA API 5.0. Other options apart from the API have been removed.
Quote from the updated FAQ:
The Amazon Product Advertising API 5.0 is used for Android apps and Alexa Skills from Amazon. Own access is required for use, more information can be found here. The PA API 5.0 information can be entered in the “advanced settings” tab of WP-Appbox. Please note that no exact error checking can be done and depending on the access level, the queries can be exhausted quickly. Currently experimental.

In reply to: [WP-Appbox] Amazon app store links are not showingThe Amazon integration has only been retained for old apps. Due to hard bot detection by Amazon, apps can no longer be requested via the Amazon website, but via Google. Very error-prone, but unfortunately there is no other solution. You can find out more in the FAQ.

In reply to: [WP-Appbox] Remove Cookie from getContentThe sleep/timeout is needed to get informations from some stores (at some servers). You can remove it by yourself, but don’t wonder why some sites will detect your requests as bot (what it is, literally).

In reply to: [WP-Appbox] QR-code doesn’t showShould be shown again with version 4.4.19.
Background: After Google discontinued its Charts API several years ago and has now finally switched it off, the?API from goqr.me?is used to generate the QR codes.
Different languages/countries for same apps are not planned (and would require some deeper changes). You can store the Indian links in the settings.

In reply to: [WP-Appbox] DEPRECATED (Greyed out lines)Since it works with most apps, it will be due to too many requests. There is no official API and if the Apple servers recognize an automated query, the only thing that helps is waiting.
To be honest: There are way too many apps integrated on the linked site. Far too many. 279. It gets better over time as the apps are updated at different times. But (much) over a dozen apps on one page is not the purpose and not the intention.

In reply to: [WP-Appbox] PHP Deprecated: str_replace()PHP 8.1 deprecates these calls, it does not make them errors.
I’ll have a look, PHP 8.1 has deprecated passing null as parameters to a lot of core functions. However, this will not happen in the short term for private reasons.

In reply to: [WP-Appbox] PHP Deprecated: str_replace()Please check 4.4.17. (Slight fix for PHP 8.1, I don’t think it will be fully compatible).

In reply to: [WP-Appbox] amazon not foundQuote from the FAQ:
Why are the requests for Amazon sent to the Google Cache?
Amazon has a very strong and “good working” bot detection. Therefore I had to resort to this workaround. It is not perfect, but the only alternative would be to remove Amazon from the WP appbox completely… :-/
