im sorry that i couldn′t help you fixing your problem.
Maybe the plugin is not needed for your case, but in comparison to the native redirection possibility, Redirect to URL gives the Option to open the link in a new tab, and Redirect articles (not only pages).
Since the plugin seemed to work under it recommendet Version, i can′t understand your Rating for this plugin.

I am still testing the 4.2.1 compatibility.

what does the error message tell?
Implementing a redirection the way you described “only” adds a redirection to a menue item. With the plugin, you can add the redirection to an article and open the url in a new tab.

I was able to recreate your first explained problem. That one is caused by the fact, that everytime you open the page with the redirection, you will open the website your page redirects to. By now i have no clue for a workaround but will think about it.
But i couldn′r recreate your second problem.

this turns out to be a little tricky, since i can only assume the source of the problems. Please give my new update a try. To keep it clean, remove the current version of the plugin completely, install the new version, remove it and reinstall it =D
I′ve applied some better cleaning up routines that only take action by removing the update.

i am sorry to hear that. Could you give me some more information please?
What version are you using?
With the newest version (1.1) i have implemented a cleaner redirection-check.
I recommend you the following actions:
– Deactivate the Redirect To URL
– Remove the plugin
– Install the newest version of the plugin
– Remove the newest Version of the plugin
– Install the newest Version of the plugin again

This may sound a little confusing, but by removing the newest version of the plugin, your database is getting cleaned by old redirection entries.

Without any entries in the database, this plugin doesn′t redirect the user. I assume that your problem is caused by another plugin.
If there is anything i can do to help you, please let me know.

Are there still any entries in the database-table wp_options beginning with redirect2url after removing the plugin via the admin interface?

the new version of the plugin deletes all options by deleting the plugin.
This removes all redirections.
I assume that this update, if not the database workaround fixes your problem.

Hallo there,

i think this is an issue caused by a wrong options unloading. You can find these settings by reading the wp_options table in the database and searching for the prefix redirect2url. Deleting these options removes the redirections.
Within the next update, i will implement a better options-deleting-routine.

first of all: thanks for choosing my plugin and thanks for your review.
I was able to recreate your problem. To solve this, you have to enter the url in the following format:
https://www.mmocomicindex.com
The http protocol has to be declared. The redirection won′t work by just entering on the url without https://

At the next update i am going to take care of this problem and implement a url correction.
