It looks as if it may of been my reluctance (fear!) in in updating pluging to ltaest issue that could of caused issue.

We are having problems with running out of CPU capacity because of cron jobs running.

Looking at our database Database: marcshos_bonfiremain ?Table: wp_users I see over 30’000 rows – this is despite only four users showing in the WP dashboard ????

Ours support has brought our attention to these cron jobs:

to try and control WP cron jobs and adding appropriate code “define(‘DISABLE_WP_CRON’, true);” to WP-config file.

Before WPEC made changes we had no problems now it looks as if the problem has been “glossed over” rather than sorted.

Anyone more technical got any ideas as to what problem is – and whether it is with site or update ?

Ahh I use caching could this be causing my problem (about 10 posts up page)

Or is it better to just wait for latest release ?

Earlier WPEC contributors seem to of gone very quiet

Had this issue for over a month now, kept users manageable by adding text below:
1. Edit your wp-config.php file, add this line below your database configuration:
define( ‘WPSC_CUSTOMER_DATA_EXPIRATION’, 12 * 3600 );

and using “No Users Delete” plugin periodically

Problem is I am now trying to update WP “ecommerce” plugin from version Version 3.8.13.1 to Version 3.8.13.3 our site bonfire.co.uk just “whites out”….the site will load but just with a white page !

This also seems to happen when I deactivate the WP ecommerce plugin.

Could it be down to extra line (above ) added to WP-config file ? or maybe something to do with plugin “No users delete” plugin ?

Any ideas, is anyone one else getting issue ? this is now stopping me updating the WPEC plugin

Thanks for the response Gary, would be really helpful if you could give an ETA for release of update. Dont want to hang you with it, but need to plan degree of interim solution.

Gary, I appreciate these users are harmless, but this is very time consuming and we could of been warned of the problem – with a bulletin or similar, you must have admin emails on file.

We spent 5 hours trying to find out who was spamming us, raised an issue with our hosting company, and then had to find a way of deleting users enmasse. Commercially this is costly.

We found plugin “No Posts User Delete Plugin” v1.0 works to delete posts BUT beware if you have users without posts it will delete them, we just made sure everyone we wanted to keep had a post attributed to them.

I too am having same issue with thousands of users being created.

Just installed latest WPEC goldcart update 2.9.7.7, nothing has changed.

WPEC still at Version 3.8.13.1

This is complete and utter madness and I see someone actually trying to justify the problem above.

Come on guys these are being used to run business sites, this is serious.

This is after we wasted hours (billed time) trying to shut out the “spammers” that didn`t actually exist!

Please, guys advise when this will be fixed.

These may be a bit of the wall but have a couple of questions/suggestions…

1/ Is there (or could there be) anyway of integrating with Quickbooks UK (not online version) ?
2/ can the contacts or tasks be directly populated from a web form bonfire.co.uk

This could be the antidote to over complex CRM programmes
