In reply to: [Gutenberg] HorribleI’m sorry you feel this way Anita. The first step toward an end goal is often times, not the most glamorous. There have been many improvements in the last 4 months, maybe take it for another spin?

In reply to: [Monostack] Selectively avoiding “monostack-syntax-highlighting”I took a look at this, and it appears the plugin, CodeColorer, has difficulties highlighting the text as intended on this theme. All

blocks in Gutenberg work just fine without the plugin, but also don’t highlight any syntax. It looks like you got it running on your site correctly. If you have time to share your solution, please do so that others might learn from it. Thanks!

In reply to: [Gutenberg] destroys so much of what makes wordpress accessibleThen I tried to paste in some content, as I’m almost certain a huge number of other WP users do.. I cried.
I’m glad you noticed there are pasting issues. In fact, right now, many of those issues are being worked on: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Aissue%20is%3Aopen%20paste
If you have time to make it over there and contribute, I’m sure we can create an awesome experience.Forum: Reviews
In reply to: [Gutenberg] Don’t Rush ItIt will definitely take a few iterations. Thanks for noting that.
I get that the future of the create/edit post screen is a WYSIWYG page builder (which will surely make the customiser completely redundant?)
While Gutenberg, right now, is just focusing on the page content, there are plans to improve the Customizer with a similar block editing experience. They’ll work together because Gutenberg will edit the content, while the Customizer will edit the page/site. I hope that helps clarify their relationship.
Saying to devs ‘go away and learn a whole new way of doing things, ooh, and you’ve got less than a year to do it’ is a bit unnecessary.
I don’t think anyone is saying “go away”, but instead “Come learn, contribute, and grow with us.” We are making concerted efforts to include developers and their requests.
such a change, even if it is for the better, needs to be phased in
That’s why there’s a beta plugin. ?? Thanks for your interest!

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Updated To Reflect changesMany would agree, @destac, that Gutenberg isn’t ready yet… even the Gutenberg developers. That’s why there’s continuous work being done on it.
Would you mind sharing those “corporate business settings” use cases where you believe Gutenberg falls short? It’s important for us to know so we can improve in those areas! Thanks.
