Ive figured it out. I deactivated all in one security plugin and it now works ??
I had an option selected within the all in one security plugin to manually approve users in there too.

I have removed the option for the user to create there own password. Ive tested again but i still get the error message ‘You entered an invalid username or password.’

Could i email you privately?

It works fine in compatibility view. But i need it to work without that.
