  • Not sure of this is the solution yet, but an article I found said that Google only crawls links. The article suggested checking site for indexed links to the directory by entering: https:/ Yourdomain/wp-includes/.

I gave it a try and sure enough, all my wp-includes files were indexed. The solution given was to have your host change the server configuration so that the directory would not be indexed.

Since I have a VPS, I did this myself–quite easily, since I found the instructions in my hosts support docs. I have submitted the fix to Google Search Console for validation. Will post the results when I receive them.

Have the same problem with only 114 products setup on site so far. Plus Google is giving me “duplicate pages without canonical” error for wp-include pages. The date of these errors is July 23, 2019 but I just received an email from Google Search Console today (July 31, 2019).

Found one support thread that addressed similar issues, marked “Resolved” but no solution was provided.

What is suddenly causing these problems: And more importantly, what is the solution?

    Hi,
Still confused. Mockups are only generated for the colors you select for the product, not every size. I usually select only the 3 colors that look best with my design for my products, which creates 3 mockups.

Since changing the title does not affect the image url, you can open your media library and add the titles to each image there, copy the title and paste it in the alt text field. When the search engines crawl the image URLs from your product pages they will find the titles and the alt text for the images. As an added precaution I opened each product page and updated it, but I honestly don’t think that was necessary since Yoast recognized the titles and alt text before I updated the pages, and it mimics the SE crawls.

I saved some time by installing a free plugin to export my URL list. The product title is in the url, all I had to do was type it in the image title field, then copy and paste it in the alt text field.

I realize it’s extra work, but until Printful offers the capability to automatically add the info, it’s an alternative solution that won’t break your site or your syncs.

There are also plugins available that edit the images automatically, but the ones I’ve tried didn’t work very well–or more precisely did not add the info in the way I would have done it.

    Hi,

Not sure why your image alt tags would not appear on your product post if you add them to the image in your library. Do you update the page after adding the tags?

I use the Yoast plugin and it recognizes the image alt tags I add immediately when I edit the image for my product page during setup and update it.

Yoast suggests adding one image alt tag with your complete keyword phrase. I just click the main image and add it to that one, and hit the set image button. When I’ve completed editing, I click the update button on the product page, and clicking the image takes me to the correct page.

I’m sure the tags are relevant to the product post because I have searched for the keyword phrases I use several times to see where they rank. Surprisingly, even when the product page doesn’t appear on the first page, the product image with the image alt tag appears in the top 20 image results.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Bob,

You only have to download the images if you intend to change the file names. You can add the titles by going to your media library and clicking on the image. Use the form on the right to add the title, description etc. The information will be added to your images.

If there is a way to prevent the photos from transferring with the products I haven’t found it. Have you tried asking them? The chat button is located on about every page but the dashboard. I’ve used it several times and the staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and have provided quite a few good suggestions.

You can submit a request to add the file naming conventions here: https://www.printful.com/feature-request and also vote for those you like that have been submitted. No guarantees they’ll do it, but if enough people want it, they are more likely to consider it.

Best of luck with your store.

I change the title of my images and it hasn’t broken Woocommerce. Yoast SEO gives me a point for the keyword in the title, so that’s what I use. As long as you don’t change the image’s URL assigned when you uploaded it to your media library you should be fine.

If you want the keyword in the URL, simply rename the images before you upload them to your site. Most SEO sources I’ve researched recommend just changing the title, and some recommend adding it in the description, others recommend using it in the URL. Since I’m using it in my product page title, my product description and my image title, I’m afraid that adding it to the URL or the image description as well would be overkill.

I contacted WooCommerce support about this problem. After checking my site, here is a copy of the email they sent to tell me what they found:

    Thanks for providing access.

I’ve created a test product by duplicating an existing one. It seems that you are not setting the product attributes properly. Although the size attribute is stored normally under your Attributes, when you used it on a product, you basically created another attribute called size.

On my test product, I’ve used the size attribute that is stored in Attributes and which is also used by WooCommerce Product Search for filtering. Please check the settings for Test product to find out how to set an attribute. You need to select from the existing list already stored in your shop. Afterwards, if you choose a size on the filter, the result will only show my Test product which is correct.

In general, when you create a new attribute on a product, this attribute will exist only on this product’s scope. Even if you set the same name and the same values, it will still be a different attribute than the one found under Products > Attributes.

Apparently, this problem is not caused by another plugin. It is caused by Printful importing a color and size attribute for the products instead of simply using the ones provided by WooCommerce.

Hopefully, you will correct this problem soon. As you know, the ability to provide a decent search capability for customers is imperative for the success of an e-commerce store.

Sorry please disregard the question about the pipes vs commas, I assumed that Woo used the commas since it accepts commas in CSV imports.
However I would appreciate your advice on how to improve the search capabilities for my site, the inability to use attributes for search and the limited products being shown when using tag search is a serious problem that must be resolved if I have any hope at all of operating a successful e-commerce store.

I am at the point where I have so many products set up on the store that experimenting with search plugins is not an option. If the sync breaks again, it would be well past the holidays before I could have all the products setup again. Should that happen, I would simply not use the integration at all and revert to manual orders. Not my favorite choice, but it would at least allow me to have the store open.

While on the subject of tags, for some reason only a few of the products with the same tag appear in the search. Any idea why?

In my case using product tags will not be sufficient for search. I plan to create several products that are alphabet related. Tagging them with A B C is not going to help the customer locate all the items that match that particular tag in the color they want.
Right now I cannot even set up an attribute widget for searches, which is a feature of the Woocommerce plugin, not a separate plugin.

I’ve noticed that Printful uses a pipe between the attributes whereas Woocommerce uses a comma. Is this the reason why the plugins are incompatible and the attribute search widget won’t work? If so it seems like changing the separator for the attributes would be a simple adjustment to make to your system to help your customers improve their stores.

Would the local product attributes–not global ones prevent Woocommerce Product Search Extension from finding the products too? I just discovered that Printul’s integration breaks when I use woocommerce variation swatches plugin.

Just my opinion but if you offer integration with a platform shouldn’t it work with the extensions built especially for that platform. The failure to work with these extensions and widgets creates major limitations on the customers’ ability to search for products on the site.

In the case of the variation swatches break on my site, it cost me two days of work because I had to delete and set up all the Printful products again. Now I’m wondering if installing the Woocommerce Product Search Extension will cost me more time fixing a problem too.
Given the impatience of most internet users, the ability to search by product attributes is a vital asset to an e-commerce store. If the customer can’t find the “orange” shirts they’re not going to scroll through your product catalog. They’ll just go to another site.

So far, my experience with Printful’s Woocommerce integration has been frustrating, to say the least. Any chance you will be addressing these issues and providing a solution?

    Hi @edwardza,

I want to offer Printful shipping for all but the Standard shipping rate which I would like to offer free shipping for. Could you tell me how I can do that while using the Printful shipping live rates for the other methods?

Basically, I want my shipping methods to be similar to what Stefan has on screenshot 2 of his site.

Any advice you can give me is appreciated.

Thank you for the information. In my case, I want to sell to specific Canadian Provinces not all of them. Is there a way to do that in WooCommerce? I’ve tried to find one, but so far I haven’t been successful.

Would love to have Canada Provinces and Territories added to the WooCommerce sell to countries lists.
