Ummm….I just solved my problem. I was missing this piece of code:

Inserted it and voila…

oh my gosh…it scares me that I might be starting to have a clue about this stuff…

I guess I’m having a bd case of a little knowledge being a dangerous thing. I love the theme I’m using (Mike Little’s Journalized Winter) and I’ve been customizing it. But somewhere along the line tonight I lost my post titles.

I went into the ‘Write’ section and tried a test post, thinking that maybe it only applied to those already written, but no post title appeared.

Where have I screwed up my code?

I have First Steps printed out and waiting for me. I just don’t want to get out of here until I have a few things squared away in my mind (and files, apparently) correctly. I am grateful for everyone’s expertise.

Okay…clearing my cache/hard refresh…Ummmm…okay. I clear my cache daily, purge cookies, etc. Does this have anything to do with what you’re telling me? I still can’t see the new theme.

This might be (the index.php) due to the previous debacle wherein I was told that index.htlm=index.php and to delete…oops. So I did what I was told….hmmmmm

Okay…I’ve done all this and overcome my stark terror at playing with ftp files. HOWever, when I click on the link for the website the ‘underconstruction’ thing still shows up.

I uploaded a new theme (made a directory, unzipped the theme and uploaded all the individual files) then I selected that theme in the dashboard/presentation, but still….

What next?

Damn, my brain is tired. How do you all do this stuff all day and not go mad? I figure you’re all simply brilliant.

Tell me how to ‘upload’. I have the folders in my download as well…
