I figured out eventually, seems to be due to some restrictions on my hosting. I opened a pull request on Github with a patch that works well in my case. Feel free to merge it or give suggestions.

Absolutely, connecting through API key is absolutely what I was looking forward to have for my case! I was planning to attempt implementing it myself, but you beat me on timing ?? Thanks so much! Works like a charm.
