In reply to: Pages that display all posts from x categoryand while i think about it – you can get close using a drop down posts plugin..
this displays a drop down menu of all posts in a certain category and can be placed in any post or page
https://www.dagondesign.com/articles/drop-down-post-list-plugin-for-wordpress/#more-109
example can be seen here

In reply to: Pages that display all posts from x categoryI have sort of found a work around for this issue.
What I wanted to achieve was a Menu item (My template created menu items from Pages) which displayed the category items. eg the Page would be titled “Your Weddings” and would then show all items I have placed in the “yourwedding” category.
So to get around the fact that this did not work I used the “Page Links To” plugin (https://txfx.net/code/wordpress/page-links-to/) to simply redirect the user to the “yourwedding” category.
Not quite what was asked for but it does the trick
you can see an example here

In reply to: Pages that display all posts from x categorythis is exactly what i want to do. has anyone watching this topic come up with a solution.
I want to have a static page whos only job is to show post from a certain category.
This would be a very handy plugin.

In reply to: Credit Card Processinghallsofmontezuma, boober
just pull back a second there chaps. you seem to have missed my point.
my only objection to what boober said is that he made the claim that storing credit cards is illegal. its not. being non-pci complient and storing credit card info could result in massive fines: no one is arguing about that. storing the 3 pin security numbers is a no no.
being in the UK i have no idea what federal laws require so can’t comment.
hope this clears my thoughts up and sorry if i put anyone out – grateful for the help

In reply to: Credit Card Processingmy homework says you are lost and confused. I can find quite a few conversations which state (quite correctly) that it is illegal to store CVS (the 3 security digits) but clearly not credit card info. E-commerce would grind to a halt if what you claim is true.

In reply to: Credit Card Processingidentifying the risks is sensible but claiming that it is illegal is not very helpful.
amazon / dabs / play etc not only hold CC details but they do so permanently.
at least with oscommerce or a wordpress plugin with similar capability cc details would only be held for the duration of the transaction.

In reply to: Credit Card Processingso every oscommerce site out there not using payment gateways are illegal???
Forum: Developing with WordPress
In reply to: Credit Card Processingthis is the problem i am having – i have looked at every e-commerce plugin i can find and they all use payment gateways or paypal..
all i want is to collect CC info over ssl
there must be something that can do this,
I am now taking this client down the oscommerce route.. i dont mind oscommerce but it is clunky and a nightmare to work with.
