“it may catch it or not.” – What does this mean?

My observation is that W3TC in manual minify mode does not seem to see templates that are not in the active theme directory. If the hook ‘template_include’ is used to override the template from the active theme and load a template from the plugin directory W3TC seems to ignore it and use the template from the active theme directory that would have been used if the ‘template_include’ hook was not executed.

I originally posted this because these notices started appearing at the same time as another more serious problem with W3TC started occurring. However, that was just a coincidence. The other problem was caused by a bug in my utility for generating custom W3TC conf files. As far as I can tell these notices are not doing any harm except for displaying ugly messages in the Minify section of the “General Settings” page of W3TC. So, this is not a priority fix for me but it would be good to stop generating these ugly notices.

I have fixed a problem with the underscore.js template. You can download it here version 1.2.3.7.2. I am not sure it will solve your problem as I cannot duplicate your problem on my installation but it does correct a problem where the template was not correctly parsed. Please try it and let me know.

I found a problem in the template. It probably is also the cause of your problem. Not sure how to fix it yet, but I will work on it immediately and until solved. I am very sorry for this trouble and thanks very much for the problem report.

Those are not PHP tags but are parts of an underscore.js template. The problem is the JavasScript code is not correctly instantiating the template. In order to debug this it would be best if I could test the offending code under a JavaScript debugger. Is it possible for me to get access to the offending page?

It would be very helpful if I could get more context. The page source of offending page would be extremely useful.

Have you solved this problem? If you have I would be interested in knowing what was the cause of the problem. I looked at the line 41 and the only thing I can think of was you were using a very old version of PHP.

Version 1.8 has a fix for this problem. Check the option “Do not load Bootstrap” in the settings page if another plugin or theme is also loading Bootstrap.

Assuming you mean rendering the HTML as it would appear on the page this is not so easy to do correctly as the CSS rules that should be applied are dependent on the parent HTML elements of the HTML generated by the shortcode. In other words to do this correctly you essentially need to load all the HTML elements that are parents of the HTML generated by the shortcode. I don’t see how to do this except by loading the entire page.

To show this is really a bug I did a new install of WordPress and disabled all plugins.
I created a new post with content:

Note that wptexturize() only texturized the quote marks in the second shortcode. Also, the shortcode must be valid otherwise wptexturize() texturizes uniformly.
