Dear Responsive Makers!

So sad, version 3.16.7 is even worse! Again is tampered with the width of the containers, which I had adjusted in your customizer. And still there is no possibility to make the container on the homepage TRANSPARENT. So I rolled back to the safe 3.16.3.

Keep on trying, though it takes quite some time off of my real content work, and of my peace of mind… ??

According to your FAQ and Customize-section, one only can change the size of the container.
NO possibilities to make the container transparent, or deleting the border or change colors there.
We hope that you will add these possibilities in 3.16.5!!

Thank you so much for the FAQ ánd the fact you’re working so hard to ever improve this lovely theme!
Since I cannot find the css to make the homepage container/box transparent again (or delete it all together), can you please give me the css, so I can fill it in the extra css section in your wonderful Customizer?

Thank you so much for your explanation! Now I understand that Responsive Free is recently totally renewed! So I must be prepared for more strange changes in my site…

Thank you so much for answering! Strangely, your reactions are not reported in my mail, though I did sign in for reactions. So I read this a little late.

I have read your interesting journey/struggle with the new customizer on that linked page. But alas, I am not a real developer; just a retired illustrator who loves to share her work for free with the world (to promote reading). The child theme I made 6 six years ago at a special WordPress course, with an experienced teacher.

So about css-codes: I don’t know how and where to use it. Maybe you are willing to help me with getting rid of that non-transparent container/box on my homepage? (I still use 3.16.3 to avoid that nasty element) For the Responsive-wizards until now haven’t reacted on this issue, alas. And I really want to get along with the newest version of this fanatstic theme.

P.S.

Maybe these last problems are due to that total renewing of this magnificent theme.

But please, dear Makers, tell me how to get rid of that non-transparent container (or is it called box?) of my homepage, because I want to keep the renewed theme up-to-date! I still use the 3.16.3 version, but I’m longing to go along with your pace!

I have noticed that recent updates of Responsive Free suddenly mess up some of my child settings. Normally I can adjust it under Appearance -> Customizer -> choose whatever section you want. With the last update there suddenly was a container (or is it called box?) where I had none on my homepage (=transparent). But this time I cannot find the solution in customizer.

Now I see your flaws, I just wonder why the recent updates mess with our child themes?
I use Responsive free for 6 years and never I had to adjust something in customizer.
It seems very strange (and annoying for all the hard work I put into my site) to me!

Thank you so much for your answer! Yes, that Swift Performance plugin had an update, and in the middle of that the computer got stuck. I could not do anything at all. So I deleted that plugin from my FTP, but on the WordPress dashboard there still remains a warning that the update was not done right, and that I have to try again. How many times I tried, that warning stayed. After that all kind of other problems started, also the Wordfence block.

But before all this, there was stil some 0000 IP from another browser and windows version that I blocked and that seemed to be me. That problem still exists. So I try another security plugin first, to see how that goes. Hope you don’t mind.

P.P.S.
I’m so sorry to post so much, but I completely deleted WF from my FTP. Now I can enter and the site is as it uses to be.

P.S. Also my site is somewhat broken, I see in another browser. The classic editor plugin I use, seems to be off.

I also tracked the IP that seems to block me. I made a screenshot of that, it has a different browser (Chrome, while I use Firefox) and a different Windows (7, while I have 10). Where can I send you that jpg?
