As I stated, I’ve read that manual meticulously, but I don’t understand that as I never used SFTP. All the updates went automatically until now. I am so afraid I delete something essential in that labyrinth, I’m so sorry!

Is there no other way?

Dear Marius,

I’ve read all the instructions about 5.3, but since I’m not a developer I’m completely lost with the manually downloading procedure you advise.

My problem: when I automatically press the update-button my WP dashboard mentions:
“The authenticity of wordpress-5.3.zip couldn’t get verified, since no signature has been found.”
So I can’t come any further, for the dashboard keeps stuck there.
My site is booxalive.nl

This was not an ‘inconvenience’, this was a DISASTER!!
For the site was so totally shut down, even roll back was not possible!

Please leave the theme as it is, for about a half year each upgrade causes stress and extra time.

@cyberchimps: Why do you make so many upgrades that break each time so many parts of our sites? Each time an upgrade is available, I get so stressed: what kind of problems again?

I just encountered exact the same problem. Also on the homepage there is a line which is only in posts, while there are NO posts in my website.

To be honest: with every update of Responsive there happen rather terrible problems and that takes a lot of time, energy and frustration.

Unlike @japenz, I do not know any css, so I hope you will update a new version that is the same as good working 3.22, which I use now.

With the help of the fabulous Facebook-Wordpress-beginners group I managed to get the homepage container transparent again! So my problem this time is solved!
I can join your most recent version again, wow!

How can I set this discussion on RESOLVED?

Oh, what a bad luck for me! I only need the container of the homepage deleted!

I had this fixed in my child theme 6 years ago, when I had lessons in WordPress with a teacher. I am not a developer at all, just an illustrator of children books, who wants to give my art for free to promote Reading. So to make such an additional css is for me abacadabra.

Please help me how to formulate the css code for the homepage AND where to put it.

I’m so sad my beautiful child theme does not work anymore since you totally renewed the free theme, it brings me so much stress and fear!

Nope again, 3.20 still does not have transparency for the container. Back to 3.16.3.
I don’t understand why it can be so hard, while in my child theme it was so easy to achieve!

Nope, version 3.19 still doesn’t have the transparent container!! So sad!!
But the with of it is OK again.

Still have to wait to get properly upgraded, and 3.16.3 stays the only safe version.

In earlier versions of your theme the width of the container was also diminished, but after my questions here on this forum I learnt from you that in the customizer the width can be adjusted. But in 3.18 the width again is smaller! Why??

On my homepage (with the container transparent!) you can see the width in my safe version 3.16.3 -> homepage version 3.16.3

P.S. Also the size of all my vimeo movies were suddenly much smaller in version 3.18!

I saw you published version 3.18! ALAS, that version does not give us the possibilty to make the container on the homepage TRANSPARENT!!
Also again you’ve tampered with the width of the container.

So I rolled back to safe 3.16.3. But I feel quite outdated in this way.

Why is it so hard to let my transparent homepage container in my childtheme intact??
All these try-outs make me nervous and take quite some valuable time…
