  • Sorry, I thought this would be a better place to put it since it’s exactly the same issue and this hadn’t been addressed yet, so I thought that when someone did address it they would only have to do it once instead of replying here to CSSgirl and elsewhere separately to me.

I’ll post a separate thread with my topic.

    Hi,

I’m just letting you know that I am also having this problem with the plugin. I also made a test page with a full-size, large, medium and thumbnail version of the same image (was called IMG_0868.JPG and is an image of a woman and a dog in a canoe) and then I replaced it (updating links) to a new image (IMG_0808.JPG which is a picture of a dog up close). The full-size image updated and the other sizes are just links that say “IMG_0868.JPG” even though when you click on them, they show you IMG_0808.JPG, the new image.

When I looked at the text version of the page, the links were all changed, but the source and alt tag were still listed as the original image.

The link to my test page is https://www.maddielabstudio.com/test-page/.

I guess I’m just saying, I’m having this problem too, and I hope it gets fixed soon because this is usually such a useful plug-in and usually saves me so much time.

    Great, thanks again!

It worked! Thank you so much for all of your help and for being so patient!

Do you know of a good resource where I can begin learning more about CSS on my own? I’ve been trying to piece it together as I go along, but I’ve obviously made some mistakes and I’d like to really understand how to fix them and not make them again in the future. I’ve pretty much just been piecing things together here and there from my searches on Google.

I added them to style.css. When I look at the css through Firebug I see the new rules. Here’s a screen shot

I just added it to the bottom of my style sheet and it still looks the same for me on my computer. When I looked at it on my phone it actually pushed the input fields even farther to the left. I left it there so you can tell me if it looks right on your computer.

    Screen Shot

That’s the screen shot of where I added the CSS in Firebug. Is that enough information, or do you need more? Most of what I’ve done that has worked successfully has been on the custom css box of the page I’m making and it’s not showing in Firebug. But, for the other things I’ve done (change the size and color of the button, etc) I’ve tested them in Firebug and then put them into the custom css box when I determined it’s what I wanted it to look like.

WPRanger I just tried that too and I didn’t get any changes. I tried it in Firebug and by actually putting it into the custom CSS field. Were you able to get that to work through Firebug, or was it just something you thought might work?

I’m sorry I know so little about CSS and that, seemingly, things that are working for others don’t work the right way when I do them.

Can I also find out where, through Firebug, you added the CSS to get it to work? I’d like to be able to have this at least look right while I’m fixing all the other things.

    (@maddielab)

Yikes, there is so much wrong according to that page! I know some of that stuff is stuff I’ve done and I’ll go fix that, but a lot of it is not changes I’ve made. Is there any way to determine how big of a problem some of those things are, especially things that must have come with my theme since they’re not changes I’ve made?

Also, where can I learn more about how the order of CSS affects things? I’m really just learning this as I go.

    (@maddielab)

    I just added it to the custom CSS box in the Landing Page I was making and updated the page and nothing has changed. When I added it in Firebug nothing changed either. Where did you add it? I was under the impression that the order of things wasn’t that important for the CSS, but I’m sure I could be wrong. I added it right under .wysija-submit-field { color: #8A2A35; width: 200px; height: 50px; margin: 0 auto; border: 2px solid #8A2A35; border-radius: 10px; background: #e2cea4; font-size: 175%;}

I added it in Firebug as well and nothing happened. I’ll try it again.

    Thread Starter maddielab

    (@maddielab)

Yeah, that didn’t work. I’ll try asking the wysija people, but the way I got the button centered was from information on their website and on that same page they point-blank say that they don’t do CSS support and they just suggest some other places that you can ask people for help.

If anyone has any ideas, I’d really appreciate some help. I literally can’t get the Elegant Themes website to work. I finally got enough pages to load so that I could type a support ticket and then it stopped loading as I was trying to submit the question. Now I’m trying on a different computer to go on and do it from there instead, and I keep getting a message that the page failed to load. I found their “Contact Us” page through Google to try and ask them what’s going on and if they know that it’s a problem, and I can’t get that page to load either when I click on the link (from both computers).

I can’t ask them right now. I can’t get their page to load. Hopefully my computer (or their website? b/c I can open every other page I’ve tried) decides to play nicely soon.
