In reply to: [Block Manager] Confustion over terminologyYeah, I’d wondered why two tabs instead of one, but didn’t want to interrupt a development process you might have in mind.
Letting me regroup the blocks into my categories is an interesting idea. But I’ll only use it if it shows which block collection (core, Kadence, Blocksy, etc) a block comes from.

Sooner would be nicer than later, of course.

In reply to: [Ultimate Maps by Supsystic] Starting a map centered on a particular pointI’m sorry to hear that. While the option may be available in Google Maps Easy, I’d rather use Open Street Maps, a lovely feature of this one. Please think HARD about making the option available in this one.

In reply to: [Ultimate Maps by Supsystic] Starting a map centered on a particular pointI love this plugin, but suppose I should look at the other one.
This feature would be very useful in my case! Do you have a projected time of arrival?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Ultimate Maps by Supsystic] Can’t select Clone or DeleteUpdate: I selected the map by clicking in the checkbox — that had no effect. The Clone and Delete buttons stay greyed out.
I subsequently discovered that if I click anywhere on the line with the map I want to duplicate the buttons become available or turn off and the checkbox is checked or unchecked at the same time.
That doesn’t seem an obvious mechanism. More natural (to me) is checking the checkbox and having the buttons become available.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] How to delete all albums and photosThanks for getting back to me and thanks for the info. As ever, clear and to the point. Not surprised to learn it’s provided for.
Again thanks,

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] IPTC and categoriesOK, I’ll continue with the PHP programs. One is a class for handling IPTC metadata in images, the other is a program that uses the class to deal with my particular use case. I’ll try to add enough comments to make them understandable. Once both are working, I’ll pass them along to you.
By the way, do you know where I can find a complete list of the IPTC code pairs, i.e;, Copyriht = 2#115? It’s not really important, because the partial lists I’ve found cover everuthjing I need. Still, out of idle curiosity, I’d be interested in seeing the complete list.
And I’ll look at the supersearch box.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Setting Tags and CategoriesBack from vacation and back to work.
Thanks for the response. Experimented a bit and think I understand how cats and tags work.
A suggestion on terminology: It would make more sense to me for the “Inherit Cats” button to read “Apply Cats” and the “Add Inherit Cats” button to read “Add Cats”. The word Inherit applies to something you receive from a progenitor or superior and suggests to me that the Album I’m in is going to receive the Cats in question, when in fact they are being passed down to subalbums.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Import and tag thousands of photos> You can set default photo tags on a per album basis
I’ll start a new support ticket about inheriting and applying categories and applying and adding tags to better understand these functions on the Edit Album Information screen.
> As a last resort, you can make a procedure
Interesting possibility! Thank you for your generous offer — where do you find the time? Since I am comfortable with PHP, I’ll spend time with the documentation and come back this thread when I have questions.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Sanitize filenamesI’m back to report that leaving IX-D19 unchecked and IX-D20 checked is the right combination for my Web site.
After a test import I thought the accents had come through, until I realized it was the title with the accents — they had been stripped from the slug as requested.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Sanitize filenamesThanks again for the quick response.
I thought sanitize was useful for removing quotation marks and such. In any case I’ll test on my site (hosted by o2switch) and get back to you with what I discover.
You realize this is all the fault of the Americans! When they popularized computers and created the Internet, they used their simple character set. And programmers have been tryng to cope with more extended character sets ever since.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Sanitize filenamesThank you for implmenting this so quickly!
However, I think there may be a bug. I did an import with both IX-19 and IX-20 checked and the accents letters in the filenames were still suppressed. “La Brède” became “La Brde”, which is exactly what happened previously. I had expected the removal of accents to happen before the sanitizing occurred.
A couple of typos: on line IX-20, the prompt reads “…during import/uploas” rather than ” …during import/upload” and the symbol for help is ! rather than ?.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Sanitize filenamesThe option you propose is exactly what I’m looking for.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Sanitize filenamesSorry for taking so long to get back to you. I’d expected an email when you replied, but I didn’t get one.
I noticed when the option was added to Table IX. However, WP’s Media Library is not happy with accented letters. So, I currently use the plugin “BEA – Sanitize Filename” on one site while I develop another organized around WP Photo Album Plus. It works wonderfully in suppressing the accents and leaving the letters. Is this possible in WP Photo Album Plus?
