Since this might very well be a conflict with some other code, the next recommended step is the conflict test:
*Briefly* disable all other plugins and enable the default Twenty Nineteen theme. If this fixes the problem, as it might, enable everything one by one, checking each time to see when the problem returns.
Please let us know when you find the conflict so that we can take a look and see what we can do about it.

This is not expected behavior, after the membership expires, content should be restricted but please make sure to display that content only for the active members, not to all logged in users.
Do you use shortcode for restriction or whole page restriction? Can you, please, send me a screenshot with the shortcode/Content Restriction Settings.

Please disregard the update issue, that was related for the paid version of our product, not the free one. We don’t think the WP 5.5 is the issue here.In order to solve this issue, let’s take a few steps:
1. Can you login from the front-end page if you set a new password to your account?
2. Try to disable the captcha field and let’s see if this solves the issue
3. https://www.labourlawadvice.co.za/wp-login.php – does this login work all the time, even if the front-end one does not?Best regards.
