Wow, Whooami, that’s got to be the rudest response I have ever gotten from a “support” forum.

I was not expecting anyone to do it “for” me. I was asking for wisdom from the group. I hoped to discover if others had a similar problem and found solutions. When information is shared, many can benefit.

whooami, I have not done this yet, as you say, it is a pain and very time consuming. I figured that I must not be the first one to experience it, so I wanted to check here first to see if anyone knew about the problem.

Vkaryl, Thanks for this plugin, I will check it out. I knew there must be others who have experienced moderation being bypassed with the spam plugins.

Splanters, thanks for hanging in there with your suggestions.

As I said above, I wanted to check here before doing that because if anyone knows which one it is, it would save me a lot of time. If no one knows, then I will have to do it myself by trial and error.

    Splanters,

Great idea. I tried that, also. Asked him about three times. He seemed miffed that I had a problem or that I wanted the moderation panel. Could not tell which. So that is a dead end.

Does anyone have any experience with these spam plugins?

Nice try, but the check marks have been in in the right place right along. It was not until I hired someone to add spam plugins that this problem occurred.

One of these plugins or perhaps the combination disables the moderation panel. I thought someone here might know before I deactivate them.

    Thanks.

Actually, I want to place it at a non-wordpress web site. So, from the description, I’m not sure that it will work. The documentation seems to indicate that it is a plugin, but I don’t see where to actually download the plugin.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the suggestion, Schulte.

In one blog, I have tried using in the server field at bloglet.com
https://mydomain1.com/wp-rdf.php This gives me a green checkmark in the status column, but so far, no email announcement.

In the other blog, I am using https://www.mydomain2.com/feed/rss which gives me a green status check mark and after several tries, I finally have an email announcement.

And I have tried https://www.mydomain1.com/feed/rss on the first domain, but I get the error message telling me this is not going to work.

    Any other thoughts?

And, of course, I may have to come full circle back to Macmanx’s comment that Bloglet is broken and not rely on it.

It’s just that I know that most of my readers are not as likely to sign up for RSS feeds, so I wanted to make email alerts available. I already have subscribers.

    Thanks.

I have talked with Skippy. He says it’s not on his priority list. Unfortunately.

    Thanks, Macmanx,

I did try subscribe2, put it on both my blogs only to find out afterward that it only works when entries are manually posted. I set all my posts for scheduled sends. Too bad, it’s a nice little plugin.

    Any other ideas?

I’ve read through and followed the information on this thread, which I see is about a year old. So perhaps there is more up to date information. I see nothing in codex about Bloglet.

So in following Bobby2222’s suggestion above, I used the server url as jmviews.com/feed/rss However, in looking at the files in my directory, the path would appear to be more correct as jmviews.com/wp-feed.php or jmviews.com/wp-rss.php or jmviews.com/wp-rss2.php

I’ve tried to carry out the last-modified fix, but do not find the word “modified” in the php file.

    Any ideas?

Not sure this helps, but on the pc side (Windows XP) it looks nearly identical in Firefox, IE6 and Opera.

Oh, yes, that helps ENORMOUSLY. You “heard” the second question I wanted to write, but couldn’t because of the one-question per post limit. I am assuming that the visual effect is “beautiful.”

try adding a background-color property to your #main declaration.

Hmmm. There is a background-color on the main template, which I am posting below. Can you be more specific about what I am to “add” or adjust to this?

    { margin: 10px 0px 10px 0px; padding: 0px; background-color: #aaaaaa; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; }

Many thanks for taking the time to look and respond.

ok, I understand how to do this. Can you explain how this will affect the monthly archives?

    Lorelle,

Thank you for telling me that only one question is allowed per post. That might be helpful to let people know such a policy, maybe on signup. To your point, I have not felt ignored at all.

Thanks for the fix information. And clarifying that it is Russian. I naturally assumed it was Bulgarian since the top of the stylesheet does mention it was translated in Bulgarian.

On second thought, I do think I need to get this resolved, now that I’ve finished laughing. Still smiling, though.

The Bulgarian words are ?????°????μ??3????€????? which means “categories” and ???????????μ???????°?€??? which means “comments.” (Also ?????μ??′??°??o??????€??°??1 which means “edit” which only I see.)

I’ve searched (both visually and through a software that reads the Bulgarian) the three files in the theme editor: Stylesheet, Comments Template, and Main Template. In addition, I’ve searched index.php which is in the original theme folder, where I made the edits for the photo.

The developer’s url has not responded when I’ve tried over the last two days.

    Any other suggestions?
