Can you attach a screenshot of which h6s are going to two lines? Maybe we might have to shrink the font a little if changing the line height to 2 did not work. Maybe try 0.75em as the font size.
Just out of curiosity, did you provide your own font with @font-face or link it in any way? Could be that it was not an included font with the twenty eleven until you updated the theme.
is the header image you’re looking to display the same header image that appears on the rest of your pages? If so, you might have selected a different template for the homepage.
