By using hooks I was able to place the other plugin above yours but below the entry content of the wordpress single post page. This way it always gets displayed at this position. It is a workaround which is why a priority option etc. would be a nice feature, e.g. to choose that your plugin would be displayed directly under the text of the single post or a subsequent plugin. As you probably figured it is a bit of a bother if the author box appears above the text’s references.

Nevermind – I just noticed that the plugin was outdated and not working anymore anyway. So I deactivated it. Now everything is working fine. Thank you anyway for spending time on the issue!

I did some troubleshooting and figured out that this issue was being caused by the plugin “Magee Shortcodes 1.6.3 [https://www.mageewp.com/magee-shortcode.html]”

Your plugin worked just fine with every other plugin – my theme as well.

So do you think there might be a solution for this compatibility problem or do I have to do without the one or other plugin?

It would be great to get an answer to this nonetheless since other users might not have the opportunity to use my kind of solution.

So I did ask again in my theme’s forum and they basically said that if it can be solved for twentytwenty it can easily be solved for the actual theme I am using (generatepresspremium):
“If they can provide a method that works for a twenty series theme, it would work the same for GP.”
. Apparently this is the better way to go at it so could you at least give me a hint?

Hi! Could you please provide an answer to my abovementioned question? Otherwise I and other people might spend time and effort in vain on a problem that might have a chance of getting solved here. After all – the same/a similar question has already been answered in this forum…so I only need specifics in order to get to work.

I have already updated wordpress manually in the past but am a bit unsure as to what the details entail in your description. Thank you for the link to the manual update directions. I will see how far I will get though.

This is a bit of a problem because I have already asked the very capable developers over there – generatepress.com – and they asked me to ask the wordpress support staff for a method which in return would probably work for their theme as well.
So could you please specify why this is supposed to be a theme related issue and not a wordpress related issue?
I don’t understand either why Nr. 3.) did not get addressed here since it has already been addressed in the wordpress forum previously. If I am using the wrong forum for issue Nr. 2.) and 3.) please redirect me to the correct one.
