  • I think I solved it for me. I disabled all my plugins (30). Then reinstalled APCU Manager and activated it (this time it worked as it is the only plugin). It said that it has been updated to the new version.

    Afterwards I re-enabled all other plugins successfully.

    For now everything seems to be fine again …

    Unfortunately that did not work. ??

    If I try to activate it I get the error “Activation failed: error” in the WordPress UI and the message

    [Sun May 05 15:42:19.611888 2024] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 62179:tid 139757671384832] [client xx.xx.xx.xx:32778] AH01071: Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Declaration of DecaLog\EventsLogger::emergency(Stringable|string $message, array $context = []): void must be compatible with Psr\Log\LoggerInterface::emergency($message, array $context = []) in /var/www/urspringer.de/html/wp-content/plugins/apcu-manager/includes/libraries/decalog-sdk/EventsLogger.php on line 325’, referer: https://www.urspringer.de/wp-admin/plugin-install.php?s=apcu%2520manager&tab=search&type=term

    in error.log

    In the plugins folder the new version exists (if I look at the changelog.MD):

    Changelog

    All notable changes to APCu Manager are documented in this changelog.

    The format is based on Keep a Changelog, and APCu Manager adheres to Semantic Versioning. [3.8.3] – 2024-05-04 Fixed

    • PHP error when DecaLog is not installed.

    [3.8.2] – 2024-05-04 Fixed

    • PHP error when DecaLog is not installed.

    I tried already to delete it from within WP Admin, but this is not possible. When I try an uninstall I see the following error in Apache error.log:

    [Sun May 05 15:29:57.020918 2024] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 62179:tid 139757730141952] [client xx.xx.xx.xx:8169] AH01071: Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Declaration of DecaLog\EventsLogger::emergency(Stringable|string $message, array $context = []): void must be compatible with Psr\Log\LoggerInterface::emergency($message, array $context = []) in /var/www/urspringer.de/html/wp-content/plugins/apcu-manager/includes/libraries/decalog-sdk/EventsLogger.php on line 325’, referer: https://www.urspringer.de/wp-admin/plugins.php

    This is the same error as if I try to activate the plugin.

    I deleted the subfolder of the plugin within the plugin directory and reinstalled the plugin afterwards. However that did not help.

    I see the exactly the same error like @avinashm when trying to activate the new version here. Let me know if I can help with more debugging / testing.

    Thanks for this great plugin. I do have still a problem and I am wondering if you can help:

    As long as I only use the “Visua”l style editor everything works great. However, as soon as I switch the editor to “HTML” and back to the “Visual” editor and save th epost again it will get screwed up because of “
    ” and “<p>” tags in the code.

    I tried different plugins which promise to disable automatic creation of these tags by WordPress but these did not help.

    Am I th eonly one who has that problem? Or does anybody have a solution for that?

    Thanks a lot,
    Michael

    P.S. I am using WP 2.9.2
