In reply to: [Preferred Languages] Issues w/ Borlabs CookieHey guys,
just found that with most recent versions (WP + your plugins) this issue still didn’t seem to be resolved.
But I found a little workaround (for existings sites being updated):- Disable “Preferred Languages” temporarily
- Switch site default language back to intended language (German Formal here)
- Re-enable “Preferred languages” (old settings should be restored)
That seems to do the trick in order for Borlabs Cookie 3.x find the correct default site language.

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Backup fails on large filesBTW: I also send a support request regarding the capabilities of the plugins’ pro version in regard to backing up directly to a cloud storage (Strato HiDrive in this case) but received no answer from you yet.
Would this be a recommended workaround?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Backup fails on large filesHey,
thanks for clarification.
Sure, tried to save to a folder on the same server in the first place. Also tried with all available archive file formats (zip, tar, tar.gz). But always with the same result:
Backup is cancelled on archive filesize around 4GB with error message:FEHLER: Signal ?SIGXFSZ“ (Dateigr??e überschritten) wurde an das Skript gesendet!

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Backup fails on large filesHey,
sorry for the misunderstanding: I tried with FTPS of course but also with just backing up on same server without transferring to another server but always having the same issue.

In reply to: [Preferred Languages] Issues w/ Borlabs CookieHi Pascal,
I’ll sent you a user login for a DEV site that shows this behaviour if you like. If so, tell me where to send it to.

In reply to: [Preferred Languages] Issues w/ Borlabs CookieHi Pascal,
Ben from Borlabs had a deeper look at it.
According to him, your plugin deletes the WPLANG db options entry, so Borlabs Cookis just falls back to default en_US.He recommends saving at least the first choice of the plugins’ language selections to the option instead.

In reply to: [Preferred Languages] Issues w/ Borlabs CookieHi Ben,
thanks for your answer. I checked this of course and apart from Borlabs Cookie, everything works as expected so far. Most recent versions used.

In reply to: [Preferred Languages] Issues w/ Borlabs CookieAt the time the site was set up, preferred languages helped in loading fallback languages for plugins that didn’t support formal german language. Right now I’m not sure if this is still needed though. Would need more testing and checking which plugins we had this issue with (can’t remember as it’s been some years since).
So it’s not really a breaking issue here. But I thought to bring this to your attention again given that the linked thread above shows that the issue persists for a long time already. If it’s hard to track down or fix, skip it.

In reply to: [Preferred Languages] Issues w/ Borlabs CookieSo I disabled all plugins except both involved, switched to default theme, resaved general (language) settings, changed language order in preferred languages, confirmed no user defined language override is active etc.
But still, the issues persists. Borlabs “thinks” the site language is (default) english. So only disabling Preferred Languages” seems to fix it for me.

In reply to: [Intuitive Custom Post Order] Object cache compatibilityHowdy,
is object cache compatibility planned for an upcoming release?
As we needed to add the compat fix to the plugin code, keeping it up2date is rather cumbersome.

In reply to: [Intuitive Custom Post Order] Object cache compatibilityHey,
the plugin owner of Docket Cache recommended a fix, please see

In reply to: [Docket Cache - Object Cache Accelerator] Caching vs. custom sort orderHey,
thanks for this quick fix. I modified the plugin code accordingly for testing and can confirm it works!
Didn’t know about this function yet, nice!
wp_cache_flush_group()
Hope the plugin owner will add this anytime soon…

In reply to: [Lazy Loader] PHP 8.1 compatibilityHey Florian,
thanks very much for providing a fix!
I totally understand that! Given that support for lazy loading techniques in modern clients and webapps like WP become more and more integrated and that lazysizes hasn’t seen any major updates for the last 3 years, it seems rather cumbersome to maintain a plugin that might not go anywhere from here.
But still, knowing that you still respond to requests and try to give support really makes a difference!
I really appreciate all the hard work you invested in this really well-written and really useful plugin so far! ??
All the best,
