Hi @cinderpath54,
Thanks very much for updating this thread, which helps our entire community! And glad to hear you were able to sort it out directly with MailPoet’s assistance.
Happy mailing!
Hi there @staalburger,
Glad to hear that’s what you were hoping for!
I would say to go ahead and set this up, do the sync to the plugin, and then give it a few days to track the conversions. However, if you are still not seeing any conversion events created on the Google side and/or they don’t seem to be tracking, please do let us know.
This is an unusual setup as most of our GLA customers are using Pmax campaigns these days, so this scenario with Standard campaigns doesn’t get much use. So if anything does not work as expected, we’d be happy to take a look.

In reply to: [Google for WooCommerce] Forced to create Google Ads accountHi there, I’m sorry to hear your experience with Google Listings & Ads did not go well.
I just wanted to clarify that:
- a Google Merchant Account is required to use this plugin; if you do not already have one, the plugin will create one for you, but this account does not cost any money or charge you for any listings
- you can also create a Google Ads account during the onboarding process if you wish, but this should be optional
- payment information for your new Google Ads account can be added if you wish to do paid ad campaigns, but again, this is optional during the onboarding process, you do not need to provide any payment information
- the plugin does not by itself create paid ad campaigns, only the free campaign
In summary, it should be quite possible to set up the plugin, and connect to Google purely to list your products for sale, all for free, without providing any kind of credit card information.
I do hope you will reconsider Google Listings & Ads in the future. I will review our documentation on the onboarding process to make sure it is clear that nothing will be charged except for the manual creation of ad campaigns after onboarding is complete.

In reply to: [Facebook for WooCommerce] Is having a feed required?Hi there @mreespinosa,
I do understand you’d like to set up some Ad campaigns on Facebook, and have these remarket to interested customers, which is a great approach.
The Facebook for WooCommerce plugin provides the ability to feed your products from WooCommerce into Facebook. This allows you to control information about your products on the WooCommerce side, but also to have them as a catalog on the Facebook side for the purpose of creating ads.
If you wish to create an ad campaign, you don’t necessarily need to have a full shop on the Facebook side, but you will need to connect to a catalog in order to push product information from WooCommerce into Facebook. This will create a data feed that then also pushes information on product updates onto the Facebook side.
You would then use this catalog to build ads.
If you have not yet connected a catalog and set up a data feed (sounds like you have not), then you can do that under Marketing > Facebook, on the “Connections” tab. I would also recommend connecting the Business Manager and Ads Manager to make it easier to create ads, and you will need to connect the Facebook Pixel if you wish to target specific visitors to your website.
Then, you can build your ad campaign on the Facebook side, here’s a little information on how to do that:

Hi there @cinderpath54,
Can you please share with us your website’s domain, so I can check your account in our system and look for any sending or receiving errors in our sending service?
Thank you!
Hi there @zehessc,
I ran some tests on my test site with a similar shortcode, like this:
Hey [subscriber:firstname | default:subscriber],
This worked fine for me. I sent it to both a subscriber with a first name, and one without, and I tested having the greeting in its own separate paragraph block, and with other text immediately below it in the same paragraph block.
In all cases, the email arrived safely and it used the first name or the word “subscriber” in the correct place. None of the text or blocks below were blocked or hidden. This implies it is not a bug with MailPoet or an issue with the shortcode itself, but rather something specific to your site’s software configuration or your newsletter’s layout specifically.
I’m not even sure how a “click to open” style link can be added or generated within MailPoet, a “click to expand” style link is not a default option. I’m wondering if perhaps some HTML code has ended up in your letter via copy and pasting?
You can check this by clicking on any / all blocks and using the <> button to view the raw HTML tagging for that block, like this:
Full Size: https://d.pr/i/k2AuwiIf you see erroneous tagging here, you can delete it directly.
Otherwise, I would suggest it is some kind of conflict with another plugin that is overwriting the contents of the shortcode. To that end, I would recommend a conflict test as described here:
https://woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/Please give both of those a try and let us know if it does not resolve the issue.
Hi again @staalburger ,
Our dev team has confirmed that in this case, where you are creating a Standard Shopping campaign and it syncs to the GLA plugin (for viewing only; it cannot be edited from the dashboard side), then yes, they do expect the matching conversion actions that the plugin creates for each campaign to be created. As the campaign is pulled into the plugin, it will fire the usual campaign creation process which includes creating those conversion actions.
Is this the answer you were hoping for, or were you hoping those actions would not be created?
If you were hoping they would not be created, can you give us a little more information on why you prefer to use the Standard Shopping campaigns instead of the Performance Max campaigns? With the Standard campaign, especially with no conversion tracking, what is your end goal?
Hi there @samwoolfe,
I’m not entirely sure I understand the setup here. Do you mean that you have a website like https://www.example.com where the MailPoet plugin is installed and where your subscriber list lives, but you want the sending email address to be another domain, something like [email protected]?
And when you say you have not received the authorization email from MailPoet, do you mean the confirmation email that is sent out when you create a new MailPoet.com account? If so, your account can be confirmed manually but we would require the email address used to create the MailPoet.com account so we can find it in our system.
You can raise a ticket with us here for assistance setting up and verifying your account:
https://www.mailpoet.com/support/Hi there @staalburger,
This is a good question! I am not entirely sure myself if the syncing of the Standard Shopping campaign back to the Google Listings & Ads dashboard would trigger the creation of the standard set of conversion actions or not.
I assume you would not want those actions created, is that correct?
I have reached out directly to our development team on this question and will do more research on the outcomes here. I’ll update this thread with my findings.

In reply to: [Google for WooCommerce] Mismatch product id in feedHi there @longstaffemedia07,
Thanks for the update on this thread, and glad to hear the issue is now resolved.
I’ll mark this thread as solved. Just a reminder as well that if you have additional issues in the future, it’s always best to open your own thread so we can work with you directly on your specific issue.
In the meantime, happy vending!

In reply to: [Google for WooCommerce] Mismatch product id in feedHi there @prakash_bm,
Thanks for providing those screenshots and additional information.
The WooCommerce Google Listings & Ads plugin adds the “gla_” prefix to each ID in order to avoid conflicts with other product sources you may be using, and also to mark those products that were created via WooCommerce. More on that here:
https://woocommerce.com/document/google-listings-and-ads/faqs/#section-29At this time, there is no way to easily remove that “gla_” prefix on the WooCommerce side. You could edit your Google products to remove this from the ID, but we do not recommend this as it can affect your search rankings and result in double-syncing of products in the future.
Google does have a way to create your own custom Checkout Link Template in which you can build your own checkout URLs with more advanced logic but design of a template like this that reworks the Google ID to match the WooCommerce ID would be outside the scope of our support.
We do have a community member who resolved this by adding custom code to his site to remove the “gla_” prefix on the WooCommerce side before syncing, but as noted above, this could affect your search rankings. In addition, code like this would not be supported by us and would be use-at-your-own-risk. However, if you wish to try that code, you can find it in this thread.
Hi there @dormaj,
It’s true that a Post Notification email set up with MailPoet will not sent out emails for any posts that pre-dated your installation and setup of the plugin. So, for example, if you had posts imported from 2022, and then installed and set up the Post Notification email, it would not send those out. Only new posts going forward would be sent.
Please also note that changing the date on an old post, so it is now dated today or in the future, will NOT re-send it. If you wanted to send out an older post, you would need to copy the content of that post into a brand new post created with the Add New feature.
It sounds like everything on your site is set up correctly. The error message you are seeing about Key Validation is expected when you have a Free plan – it means that no premium key was found, but does not indicate any issues with connecting to your plan or sending emails.
If newly created posts do trigger the Post Notification to be sent out correctly, then this is expected behaviour for MailPoet.

In reply to: [MailPoet - Newsletters, Email Marketing, and Automation] adding CNAME recordHi again @andyvb,
Just checking in to see if you still have questions on this issue. Looking in our system, it looks as though your site’s domain is now verified and ready to go.
If anyone else is struggling with this issue, please note that you can add a period (“.”) at the end of your CNAME records to block the addition of the full domain name at the end of the field value.
For example, instead of setting up your CNAME record value to be “dkim1.sendingservice.net” you would enter “dkim1.sendingservice.net.” with the final dot.
CNAME values entered with the final dot were not recognised by our server as valid field values, but this has now changed. If you are still struggling to verify your domain having added the final dot to the CNAME record values, then please make sure you have upgraded MailPoet to the latest version and re-verify.
