In reply to: [Relevanssi - A Better Search] Weights in custom search formThanks for the quick feedback.
I fixed my form to always order by relevance and removed the order by dropdown for search results as I don’t think they are necessary now that I have a more accurate search. Thanks for your help!

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Facebook Images are not showing up when sharingIt is working now. Perhaps it was just an issue with Facebook itself? Thank you for looking into it.
Got it. We don’t have a lot of users, so this should be fine.
Should I have that on when not testing? What is the purpose of that setting? I couldn’t find any explanation.
Thanks again.
Hi Vinny,
Thanks for all your help with this. Everything is working properly now. In my efforts to try every possible setting to try to get this to work, I had checked “Send emails in the background the next time the site is visited” which caused me problems.
And your plugin update fixed the issue with duplicate emails.
Laura
Hi Vinny,
Well, I did that and it seemed to work temporarily (although it still sent the default one as well) but with some odd results. It was sending an email to the fake user I set up for testing (set to participant as I have in my settings) but also to another user who is set as a spectator. It shouldn’t be going to spectators. Also, the default message was blind copying that user (maybe they had subscribed and that is why?).
Anyway, I started re-activating plugins and it stopped working. To try to to figure out which one, I slowly started deactivating them again, but I can’t get it to work again. I am down to just bbpress and bbpnns and still nothing.
This is a local development site, so I’ll need to set this up on a public staging site to give you access. I’ll set that up as soon as I can.
What method do you recommend to make sure emails don’t go out to real users during the testing. This set up?

The latest:
bbPress Version 2.5.14
bbPress Notify (No-Spam) Version 1.18.2Hi Vinny,
Thanks for the quick response.
I’m just testing on myself (staging installation). I only received the one. I did try that setting and it doesn’t change anything.
The notification for the new topic works fine, it’s just the notification for the new reply that has the problem. I checked the override button for both.
Any other ideas?
Thanks again,
LauraThis wasn’t a first configuration. I tried to change it from Gmail using OAuth Authentification to SMTP with Login Authentification. I didn’t want to reset as I wanted to be able to easily switch back to my proper Gmail configuration.
If I change it with the wizard I can get it to fail and I did get the slack notification. I’ll change it back and should be all set. It does seem like there is an issue changing the settings directly though. Thanks for your help.
That’s exactly right, I got the email even with the wrong password. I changed my configuration (just going to the settings, not using the Wizard) and used SMTP with an incorrect password. Then the notice shows “Postman is not configured and is mimicking out-of-the-box WordPress email delivery.” and when I do a test, it shows as successful and I get the email. I was surprised too. I am not sure what your last question means “Setup any account”?
You had it set to SMTP with wrong username and password? I tried that and even though I had it incorrect, my test was still successful. Do you know if this is because it’s mimicking WordPress out of box set up and that still works?
Thank you!
Actually, I tried removing my client ID and testing and also changing to the default configuration and testing and both my tests were successful. I also tried changing to SMTP with an incorrect password but I got an error that outgoing host and port couldn’t be empty (even though I added an outgoing port). Still my test was successful. It noted that Postman wasn’t set up and it was mimicking out of the box WordPress installation. Were my tests still successful since the out of the box WordPress email was working? I can’t actually find anyway to get a failure!
I’m not using a password, I am using the GMail API with OAuth, but I guess can disable it for a second, thanks.
