In reply to: [Options for Twenty Twenty-One] Size of logoI can’t find the control for logo size or position. I looked in Site Identity – not there. No little gear there either. Could not find it in the other Customize tabs.

In reply to: [Options for Twenty Twenty-One] Error messages – header related?Thank you Oliver,
It is a fascinating little problem. It only occurs when Jetpack is activated. The error messages flash by when clicking certain links in Appearance. They flash by when going to Customize, Background, and Edit CSS. The messages stay on screen when going to Widgets – the normal widgets screen is below the error messages and functions normally.
There are 24 pages on this site, 22 active, 2 in draft. The first error message appears 22 times. One might conclude that the problem is with active pages.
Before taking this to the Jetpack forum I will see if it happens on any of my other sites running 2021. If I find out anything interesting, I will share it with you.
Thank you for your support and your dedication. You are an exceptional professional. My hat is off to you!

In reply to: [Options for Twenty Twenty-One] Error messages – header related?Error messages continue after 2021 reinstall. I looked into misc.php and found the function that contains $page->post_status. It appends ” (Draft)” to the page title if the page is in draft status. Nothing I need. I trust whoever is concerned about that will fix it in due time. It does no damage, merely annoys.

In reply to: [Options for Twenty Twenty-One] Error messages – header related?Well good news for you. The error messages continue when the Options… plugin is deactivated. They go away when Jetpack is deactivated, and come back when it is activated.
I do not use a child theme nor have I modified 2021. I removed all additional CSS.
The only other plugin that is active is WordFence – I am reluctant to disable that as I get a lot of hacker traffic.
I will reinstall 2021 and Jetpack and see if it clears up.

In reply to: [Options for Twenty Twenty-One] Add Header Image to ThemeThank you, Oliver, for your explanations. That really helps to allow me to get a good looking site.
You said, “We could take requests for options to achieve the latter two options above? ??”
Those options would be very useful. Both the shadow for the text and the gradient. Should a formally post a request for each of those?

In reply to: [Options for Twenty Twenty-One] Add Header Image to ThemeGreat job, Oliver! You guys are on the ball!
I am not sure that I understand your sizing and placement, but I never figued that out for older themes either.
I uploaded two images, one with the 3:2 ration (35mm film format) and the other a strip 1600×495 (I just cut the other down, no reason for this odd ratio).
When using the header image it covers the area for the logo, the site title and menu. That works well.
Of course, some people are never satisfied. If it were possible to optionally decrease the height even further to just the part of the logo, above the site title, that would work even better for me.
My reason is so that title and menu readability is not affected by the image. See my site PCPC

In reply to: [Options for Twenty Twenty-One] Add Header Image to ThemeI also wish to use a header image. Using the “featured image” as the header would be very useful. The height control for a header image is most desirable. In some other themes the header image takes over the screen and is all that a visitor sees. Being able to make it fairly small in height would be great.
I am using a workaround that does not require any CSS by using a background image that consists of the header image at the top followed by a blank area in the color of the background color setting ( https://pcphotoclub.org/ ) – A tacky approach, maybe, but it works until you can provide a real solution.

To change the text in the menu, edit your menu and change what is in the “Navigation Label” field.

In reply to: Photo gallery – Flickr styleAmazing that what seems so clean and simple when looking at Flickr or OneDrive is out of reach of WordPress users. Surely there must be somebody out there willing to spend a couple of hours to develop just one “photo row block”.

In reply to: Photo gallery – Flickr styleThank you Niall @nm1com ,
Unfortunately neither of those plugins meet my needs. My photographers are artists and are very particular about their art. I have to maintain the aspect ratios of their work. Cropping, stretching or squeezing is not appropriate.
