I think, I have same issue… My site have 8700 pictures. With Woocommerce and Divi Theme it is next 11 thumbnails per picture (it’s 95700 thumbnails !). I disabled medium and large sizes and other with remove_image_size(). But plugin still regenerating and creating all 11 thumbnails ??

Problem was in Divi Theme and PHP7 together. Problem solved with actual version of Divi theme.

I looked to my database… old version saves meta key “_category_permalink” as a number – category ID. New version saves serialized data. So, just update all of old meta keys and everything will be fine ??

Some posts which have one category are still red. But category names are bold. I don’t remember if permalink was set or not.
Also in post editor right sidebar Category selector have not bold permalink font. Newly set are ok.

That works. But old posts seems like not set permalinks.

When I downgrade plugin to 2.2.8 permalinks are fine.

PHP 5.5, WP 4.5.3

Also in the listing of posts is red warning icons.
