In reply to: [UPM Polls] Cannot save pollsI am having this same problem. It used to work fine for about a year. I’ve had the same poll up for several months (and it’s continued to gather votes and everything) so I didn’t know there was a creation problem. But I just went to create my first new poll in several months, and I can enter question/answers, but it doesn’t save. Any luck resolving this one?
ETA: I am using UMP Polls Version 1.0.4 and WordPress version 3.2.1.

In reply to: [Wordbooker] Can I have my old Wordbooker back pleaseHi Steve, I just noticed that my last 3 posts using Windows Live Writer automatically showed up in Facebook without my having to open the post in WordPress, so whatever you did – thank you.
Oh! And as I was writing this, I just checked and see that the Like button is back and working again.
So, after all the bitching and moaning I’ve done here, I thought could at least do you the courtesy of checking back into this thread to say THANKS. Keep up the good work! ??

In reply to: [Wordbooker] Can I have my old Wordbooker back pleaseWithout the publish window, I’m with squeakerfish – this is so much more time consuming. After publishing my post in Live Writer, I have to go find it in the WP dashboard, scroll the bottom and check the Wordbooker options and Update. It’s faster for me to browse to my new post, copy the link, and paste it on my Facebook wall.
It would actually be easier to publish all the extra updates (from Edit) and then go to my wall to delete the extras, but it won’t default to ALWAYS publish.
Do you think you’ll look into an alternative solution? If not, I might have to look for an alternative, as this no longer saves any time.
Re: the Like button – all five checkboxes are checked in my blog settings: include Like button, include on front page, Category Pages, Pages, posts. I have now tried both options on Combine Send with Like (though I’m not quite sure I understand what that means). Still no Like button.
Suggestions? Thanks for the replies,

In reply to: [Wordbooker] Can I have my old Wordbooker back pleaseOkay. I’ve figured out a few things. I upgraded to 2.0.1 as suggested and ran the full log and saw a listing that I don’t believe I saw before: “Publish Default is not Set, Giving up.”
I then saw the “Wordbrooker 2.0.1 NOT posting to Facebook Wall” thread on the support forums. There, I saw Stephen’s comment saying, “When a post is published to Facebook the “Publish this post” option is automatically unchecked to stop the post being posted again by accident when the post is edited.”
That, combined with damnidunno’s comment above “I realized it wasnt working for me since i use live Writer” explained the problem.
I reopened my post in WordPress, found the Publish this post option at the bottom, checked it, and voila – it appeared on my Facebook.
So, two questions remain. This is a painfully slow workaround. I never use WordPress to edit posts b/c it is slow and crashed nearly 50% of the time on me. You say the “Publish this post” option is unchecked to prevent dual posts when edited. There used to be a window (so only republish to FB if it was last published more than 14 days ago, or whenever. Is there any chance we can have this option back?
If not, any suggestions?
Second, even though my Wordbooker setting for, “Include a FB Like button on blog” is checked, I have no Like button. This used to work before the upgrade, and the Share option works fine. Any ideas?
Thanks!

In reply to: All pages pulling up with 404 errorNever mind – I answered my own question. After searching around, I went to settings/permalinks, didn’t make any changes, clicked Save Changes, and all was well.
Any idea what would cause this? Thanks.

In reply to: All pages pulling up with 404 errorP.S. I thought I had linked my blog to my profile but couldn’t find it when I went to look. It’s self-hosted. https://www.lukeandreid.com. Thanks.

In reply to: Edit Post Box Jumps to TopI have dabbled with WP for a few years and am just launching my first real live blog. I have tried both FireFox and IE8 (not compatibility mode) and have had the same problem in both places. I agree with savvy4 though – it does seem to be a problem when you toggle views from Visual to HTML.
I have found a stupid but helpful workaround for me. I found the two most common reasons I was switching to HTML view were a) to create tables b/c WP’s table management seems to stink, and b) to insert horizontal rules. My workaround was to try to install two plugins that allow me to take care of these two tasks in Visual view. I say “try to” because the HR one created an error, so I’ll have to rewrite that one. But the table looks pretty good. It’s called wp-table-reloaded. HTH.
