I’ve reached out to our contractor for our sidebar widget with this information and we’ve identified an alternative implementation that avoids the duplicate body content conflict where we call do_shortcode( wpautop( $content ) ) on the user-supplied post content instead of apply_filters( 'the_content', $content ). Thanks for the update. What specific recommendations can I give to the widget maintainers? They have cited the documentation linked earlier for official WordPress guidance and shown the specific scenarios where Events Manager is not following that guidance; I’m trying to give similar details back for what they should be doing instead.

My understanding is the reason this widget is calling the the_content hook is to process and render any embedded shortcodes in user-supplied content that is displayed in that widget.
