Blog Address URL set to https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog

There is no “/” at the end ??? I am not sure if this makes a difference and I’m too scared to try in case it all goes wrong again !!!

I too had problems with installation of 2.6.1 but eventually got them sorted through the Forum.
I think you need to give a few more details like
what is the url you are working on ?
what version upgrade you did ?
what server eg windows or linux ?
Can you access your database through a control panel ?
Can you access the url through the host server ?

Thanks for the update. I now have the site up and running again
I have to say that I must have been going round in circles because I did do this last advice !!!
For anyone interested this is the sequence I did things to make it finally work.Remember this is for a Windows Server site with the blog url at https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog

1. Accessed the MySql datatbase and
set site url to https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog/
set home to https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog/

2. Accessed the server through H-Sphere
selected Web-service and
set Indexes Enabled
edit Directory-Indexes and enter index.php

This is so simple now that it works !!!

I can try two Set Up’s

Set Up 1. Access Database and in wp_options I can set
Site Url and Home page to https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog/index.php
The site index appears but with no theme applied and I can’t log in as redirected to wrong page !!

Set Up 2. Access Database and in wp_options I can set
Site Url and Home page to https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog/
The site index appears correctly with the theme applied but links to Archives and Pages etc are wrong (manually inserting index.php before? in url fixes this) I also checked the General setting url and Permalink url and they are set to https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog/

Any help !!!

Also the theme format has disappeared see https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog/index.php

Did that and now get a redirect to https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog/index.php/wp-login.php when trying to log in

I have accessed the database and changed the Home url, Site url,

I have tried the Permalinks, General settings plus lots of other items listed on the forum. I seem to be going around in circles…

I have spent 2 days trying to fix this on my own, so help would be greatly appreciated !!!!

It seems when I press a link the index.php text is missing and so I get a link back to index page see sample at https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog/?m=200808
instead of https://www.lookaroundireland.com/blog/index.php?m=200808

Please help me
