as i said ‘ that’s how i personally feel’ – it most certainly doesnt hurt my feelings. but what really annoys me is that within wp-admin there are far too many uneasiness as a comparison to this toolbar. i gather that you know your way around your browser. so do i. but if you would sit in front of any novice computer… or even an experienced blogger’s pc; they will have, oh… perhaps 4-7 toolbars on their browser and have no clue how to remove them. with 11 years training newbies on a daily bases, wordpress has just added another stack of clumsiness.

by adding another … is a royal pain in the arse!
As i said… it doesnt hurt my feelings, but it added more fuss. nuff said.

PS: After some deeper thought. i guess what really bothers me is having to (or MUST) use something (or FORCED) on my front browser window where i consider it as personal space i care about. I personally like less. im not one for clutter. i guess thats my pet peeve.

WordPress guys; i do understand why you made it, however please let me turn it off, okay?

well personally i want to see my site and not a toolbar overhead while im logged on. there are many other ‘going ons’ on a given page/post than merely clicking on the toolbar link. Now.. if it would open a new tab/window – okay now it helps. but clicking back and forth is really annoying.

you are saying that i must live with it. come on… seriously there are far many other things that need fixing on/with the wordpress platform than adding more unnecessary bells and whistles.

    thats how i feel anyway

    1. Yes im using 1 column – edit window is too small. so can someone please add the save buttons near the edit window? Pretty please?

    2. i believe that’s a lame excuse. since the internet has evolved, programmers have mastered the art of building modern day platforms and web code, yet they cannot fix the engine that spits our content to the world. shameful.

    3. It’s impossible. i have not yet to date spoken to anyone that HASN’t needed to open an additional window to view/confirm a code change. what you see in the TINYMCE arena will be/is completely diffrent from the live result. And the html editor window, i can now add shortcodes. code with brackets [one-quarter] (whatever – i suppose this is within the themes function etc) however and regardless, the experience is appalling. I still must view in the visual window regardless. Something programmers need to focus on.

    4. Thank you!

    5. Yes – ive tried that… but… i dunno. i still need to do odd things with SEO, description, thumbnails and so on and so on and so on.

    6. There are tools on the web to help work with html code and whatnot, however… but you know what? This is definitely something a web programmer should be able to fix once and for all.

I am not a programmer nor do i want to be. nor should NEED to train to know how to use html coding after 11 years online. If that were all I needed to focus on with my web buisness, then that would be different.

    Thats my opinion anyway.

    Thanks for the reply guys.
PS: btw: Which wp-admin css file can i edit to match with my activated theme style?

i’ve been online for more than 11 years now and train many newbies. my slogan is “Newbies eventually come to me”

However, for you programmers out there let me explain exactly what newbies are asking for.

They don’t see the overall picture. You MUST add a video or a numbered step-by-step guide to follow. Even though its clear cut for you; doesn’t mean it is for the installer.

Next place 2 or 3 more examples and tell us why you did this and for what purpose. How many other ways will this plugin benefit me, etc.

You do these things and you’ll get 85% more users. And that’s a fact!

Ah… okay on the regex rule. perhaps thats it. no its not my IP address, but mine was there at one time until i disabled it.

and yes it is a bot and sometimes the referrer is my domain – the continue to next page arrow brings up https://lonnieamirault.com/advice/https://lonnieamirault.com because page 2 of my advice category has no pages yet, therefore im trying to redirect this .com# page somehow. Or fix it with some kind of plugin.

there were some 404’s… yes, however ive fixed them and presently if i notice any more with the Yahoo Bot as the agent (this is the culprit), i redirect the url and let the agent know as well.

the long url’s are not 404’s, they were under the log file where the IP address is clickable to trace.

thanks so much for your time.

not sure i understand where you want me to look. under the ‘redirects’ tab? since ive posted this issue i have several more that has been logged. it appears to be looping and the same IP (not mine) as if the visitor is constantly refreshing the page. i dont get it. And i dont see a redirect for /advice/review/ in my redirects tabbed log.

maybe i dont quite understand how the redirect works after ive made a command. but they all say 301 and under a green shadow.

perhaps its my theme, as you’ve stated it could be an external tool or plugin. Gee… there are so many plugins nowadays and so many settings its so easy to get tied up straightening the blog to behave instead of building on it.

anyway… i’d really to know why this is so and whether i should be concerned or not. you are welcome to view inside my wp-admin. i would surely appreciate it.

let me know when you have a chance.

PS: ok on the source address.

sometimes the themes are uploaded with an identical folder within the zip or if you ftp a folder, check to make sure there isnt another identical folder. double folders cause that error.

yes there is a plugin that can do just that. it’s called Widget logic. the plugin is located at this site

if there’s another way… then so be it. doesnt mean im incorrect.

done all of the above. no go
    thx

there’s more than one way to skin a rabbit. unless im misunderstanding the problem i know for a fact im right as ive been doing it since 2003, so i know im not wrong.

you dont need to show your posting page as your front page. you can use another page like the way you want. the news feed (blog) acts like an update for all to read. just head over to your settings menu and click on reading and set your page viewing there.

    reset your plugin folder

you cannot change your domain name. your domain is register under just that. if you want a different name – then you will need to register for another. so just change it back to its original name. if you have a ftp client software you can easily rename the file name. or enter your hosting account and change it there. support can help you there

thats what a blog is for, to post news. like a news feed, a blog syndicates content, however you can post to as many categories as you wish separately by creating categories under your POST menu. If you want the post to be singular, you will need a single post plugin, however you cannot escape the post to your blog. its works the same way as twitter or facebook, like a news feed. if its necessary the to do this via your blog, then the only way would be to create a page, thus you will need a theme that can do this or you’ll need a plugin that can create independent pages. otherwise create a static html page separately with an html editor.
