POSSIBLE SOLUTION. Whenever I see this error now, I have a plugin that is conflicting somehow. This process works for me every time and hasn’t let me down:
- FTP or file manager to /wp-content
- rename /plugins to /pluginX (or whatever)
- goto https://www.blogname.com/wp-admin/ in browser
- login (you should be able to now)
- rename /pluginX (or whatever) back to /plugins
- in browser, goto PLUGINS via admin
- select DEACTIVATE ALL PLUGINS at bottom of plugins list
- begin activating plugins one at a time to see what errors out
- when a plugin errors out either delete it via FTP, or find an upgrade if available – if no upgrade, leave deleted and see if blog functions correctly without it
Really, once you’ve identified the plugin that is causing the error you either have to upgrade it or leave it off the blog. Sux I know and I’ve been through this with every damned update so far (just had to do it to discover WP.com Stats plugin when I upgraded to 2.3.3…).

MySQL: 5.0.27
FireFox: 2.0.0.11
Win XP: windows Firewall only.I upgraded to 2.3.1 when it first came out, and this whole cookie thing is new as of this morning. I have not been on my blog since Sunday night. I have not installed anything new or changed any settings since Sunday. One thing I did notice this morning however is that I am getting slammed with SPAM all of a sudden asking me to moderate it…
wp-login patch doesn’t work.
cleared out all extra spaces I could find in php files.
CHMOD’s appear to be correct
Unable to access from multiple computers.
Other 2.3.1 installations working fine.
blog is in a dir “/blog/” where it always has been.
Database appears to check out ok.
commenting on blog kicks back DB error, yet posts comment?
does not work in IE7 either.Nothing has changed, and this began this morning all of a sudden on all computers and all browsers…
HELP!!!!!
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wont let me delete postsI am also having this EXTREMELY annoying issue. I upgraded to 2.3.1 hoping that it might resolve itself, however, it has not.
When managing pages, posts, comments, and categories, when you tell it to delete something it disappears from the screen, but on a reload it shows up again.
The DB user has full privileges, I’ve deleted the .htaccess file and updated the permalinks, I’m running WP 2.3.1, and I would change users except I cannot add a new user either (or category of any kind). I’ve also deactivated every plugin, and have tried different browsers with no luck.
Anyone have any idea what the issue might be?
