Hello @comicschau
We just pushed out 5.211.1 with a hotfix – please check that version out?
Hello @comicschau
I am sorry to hear that – We have tested with fresh installs and updates and have not encountered an error yet. Can you tell us more details from the error message you saw? Was it a manual update or via a management system?
Hello @lsbk
Thank you for reporting this issue, we have pushed out 5.207 just now that fixes this bug.
Hi Steven,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear that our plugin didn’t meet your expectations in this situation.
The free version of Security Ninja is designed to help identify security vulnerabilities and provide you with actionable insights to secure your website. While it’s a valuable tool for prevention, it doesn’t include advanced malware scanning capabilities. These are typically found in more specialized tools or the Pro version of certain plugins.
We believe that our plugin’s description clearly outlines what the free version offers, and we’re sorry if this wasn’t clear when you installed it. We always encourage users to review the plugin description to ensure it fits their specific needs.
We wish you the best of luck in finding the right tool to help with your current issue.

Hello – we pushed out version 5.198 with some fixes for the headers tests, please update and check the new version?
Hi @wpweaver,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and for updating us with your findings.
We understand how such issues can cause concern, and we always strive to address them promptly. We’re glad to hear that the latest release of Security Ninja has resolved the false positive for TimThumb in your Weaver Xtreme theme.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve our plugin continually. If you encounter any other issues or have further feedback, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Great, @mandrael thank you for letting us know so we can help other users.
Hello @mandrael,
I’m sorry it doesn’t sound like there are any other users who have experience with this specific situation. We have many users running on Cloudflare, but CF can be configured in many different ways, making it hard to pinpoint what exactly is not working in your setup.
Here are a few things you might check:
- Firewall Rules: Ensure Cloudflare’s firewall isn’t blocking WP Security Ninja.
- IP Address Forwarding: Verify that Cloudflare is forwarding real visitor IP addresses.
- Caching: Clear Cloudflare cache to see if it resolves the issue.
If these steps don’t help, you might need to review your Cloudflare settings or consult their support.
Thank you for reaching out. We recently made significant changes to our test system, including refactoring many of the tests to better utilize newer WordPress code. These changes might have introduced some issues.
To verify the results, we recommend using a tool like Security Headers to compare the results.
Since the test scan is performed by your website itself, the way the code tests the headers can sometimes yield different results than external tests.
If you find discrepancies, please let us know so we can further investigate.

Wow @modelaid thank you so much for translating our plugin, that is amazing! We really appreciate that, and I know there are many users who will be happy to use the plugin in their native language. Thank you again.
Hello @michaing
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and for your detailed feedback.
You are absolutely right about the issue with the server response headers check. We appreciate your suggestion to improve the accuracy of this check by verifying the actual content of the headers.
I’m pleased to inform you that we have addressed this in our latest release, version 5.192, which was just pushed out. The update includes a fix that ensures the check only flags headers containing actual PHP or other backend version information.
Please update to the latest version, and you should see this issue resolved. Thanks again for helping us improve Security Ninja!
