In reply to: [Arconix FAQ] no css+1 same issue here
I use these caching plugins:
+ Autoptimize to minify + combine styles and scripts
+ Hyper Cache to cache all pages.Usually all properly enqueued style and script files are minified well. But the plugin styles from Arconix Faq seems to disappear entirely if I enable CSS compression.
Strangely, it used to work fine until now. Has there been an update that might have caused this issue?
EDIT: I temporarily copied the entire CSS to the Customizer Extra CSS field. This resolved it for now.

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] PHP 7.1 warnings+1
I got this error while running a backup job: “Job has started, but not responded for 10 seconds”. I looked into the server information and I saw an “Illegal String Offset” error.
Went from 7.1 to 7.0 and now the issues are resolved.

In reply to: [Hayona Cookie Consent] Should this work with a child theme?Hi Jeroen,
Thanks for your message. Again, apologies for the late response. Didn’t see your message until now. Still figuring out a way to get notified by new support questions.
1. I’ve tested the plugin locally with a Twenty Thirteen child theme. It does work, but you’ll have to reset permissions. You can do this under Settings ? Cookie Consent ? Cookie settings.
2. It is OK if you install Google Tag Manager manually.
3. Any script outside of Google Tag Manager will be executed with or without consent. I’m not sure what kind of cookies typekit and jetpack are placing. Things to look for are 3rd party cookies, ip tracking, etc.If you have further questions, please let me know.
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Hayona Cookie Consent] Good but need improvementHey deanbatha,
Thanks so much for pointing these things out. It really helps. I’dd like to answer your remarks briefly:
- Fixed this in latest version (1.1)
- We will probably not be implementing this feature. Detecting cookies automatically would make the plugin much heavier and would require a lot of time to make. For instance, the category in which the cookies are placed depends on the script you place, the settings you use in that script and the laws of the country you’re in. But, if you have a specific idea on how to implement this, please let me know.
- Based on your question I wrote a small answer in the FAQ.

In reply to: [Hayona Cookie Consent] Possibility to enable GA after consent?Hi Agnes,
Yes that is possible! You’ll have to include Google Analytics via the Tag Manager. To place Google Analytics after consent has been given you have to assign a different trigger: Instead of using the trigger ‘All pages’ use the ‘Consent’ trigger.
Last week I rewrote the installation instructions. You can find them here. If you follow every step, you should be able to set it up. Let me know if this works for you.
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Hayona Cookie Consent] Unexpected token, no timestampHey ElectricMud,
Sorry to hear this. I’ve just posted a new version of the plugin that has a different way of storing timestamps. Could you please verify if the problem still exists?

In reply to: [Hayona Cookie Consent] How do I know which cookies my website uses?Hey Vincent,
Before I go into your question: The law differs across countries. If you need to be really sure, please consult a lawyer.
But here are some rules we apply here in the Netherlands. You can use Google Analytics without consent under some conditions. You have to do four things:
- Use anonimize ip
- Disable data sharing with Google under account settings
- Sign the Data Processing Amendment under account settings
- Use a privacy statement that says what you’re tracking from your users. Link to this in the footer of every page on your site. We have a dutch example, but I’m sure there are examples in English as well.
I don’t know what cookies Yumpu places. As a general rule, you have to get consent when:
- a tool sets 3rd party cookies;
- if you’re tracking personal data.
I hope that helps.

In reply to: [Hayona Cookie Consent] Looks Complicated, Is a bit…Thanks for the feedback! You’re absolutely right. There are a couple of steps needed to get it working. I just added a step-by-step guide to our plugin description. Hopefully this will clear things up. Please let me know if you (or someone else) has more suggestions. We’d like to make it as easy as possible.

In reply to: [Hyper Cache] Feature request: Auto-generate cached postsAllright. So no plans to include this feature in Hypercache someday?
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Hyper Cache] Feature request: Auto-generate cached postsWhat do you mean by ‘cached on the fly’? Do you mean when a user visits a page for the first time after the cache is expired?
The speed difference on low resource hosting between a cached and a non-cached page is huge (around 400%). If a website doesn’t have much traffic a high percentage of visitors and crawlers will see a (slow) page with expired cache.
We would like all the pages to be pre-cached, so that 100% of the visitors have the speed benefit of the cached version.
Thanks for your quick replies. I’ve run a couple of more test across a couple of different sites and hosting environments. It turns out that we had conflicting code in our own themes that caused this problem. I should have looked a little further before posting here, sorry for that.
Yes, I selected the option “Everywhere: Disable all comment-related controls and settings in WordPress”
