seems as if the backup is large then it would not be automatically backed up. like lets say something bigger than 5mb or so. Just a hunch though.

I also tried to use the <?php wp_footer(); ?> to no avail. I just used the <?php do_action('wp_footer'); ?> since most of my blogs use that on the footer area and the rest use the <?php wp_footer(); ?> but still nothing happens…

Any other suggestions guys?

yep, it has the wp_head(). I am currently using the this theme called Capella theme with only editing the footer because it did not contain the wp_footer() hook.

I everything is working fine except that the admin bar is not visible. Not even a blank admin bar. It seems as if it does not exist.

What I already did:

• Upgraded to WP 3.1 (of course)
• put in the <?php do_action('wp_footer'); ?> before the /body
• change the theme to Twenty Ten to cross match if it was really because of the theme
• Checked if I have the wp_header() hook. (and it has one on the header.php

any other suggestions?

Nice resoluton. Otto’s advice worked for me too as I was having the same problem with asherwolf… I wonder what the wp_footer() could do though as I might have accidentally deleted it few years back when I was still starting tweaking my blog for the very first time…

I mean, what could happen in a blog without a wp_footer() in the footer.php file? I seem to have been running a blog without it but notcied nothing significant not until the Admin bar for the WP 3.1 came.

Im using 3.0.2 now. Actually all of my sites already have the 3.0.2 version of wordpress… still same problem, other sites that have 3.0.2 are not showing any problems except for one.

same problem here, weird though since on other sites that I have this plugin works perfectly…

a solution that I did with this was I have had the WP 2.9.2 and had it all reuploaded on my installation. (except of course on the wp-content folder and wp-config.php file) then re-login and Im back again in 2.9.2 version… then tried upgrading again using the automatic update and now everything is fine….

I dont know about the 2 files Scrobby is talking about, cause I checked the 2.9.2 files against the 3.0 installation file on mine and I found out MORE THAN 2 files that was not able to be installed.

me too same error, but now Im getting tons and tons of problems just trying to restore my blog to its usual state

you think they would integrate it back on the next wp updates?

that’s good to hear. this error occured again after the lastest update.

what I did was do the same procedure again. MANUALLY installing it as if it was being installed for the first time.
