Update – Changed templates, still unable to figure out where to put the new logo in. Can someone please tell me how to change my header? I’m sure the answer is in the forum archives – I’ve been looking and will continue to do so. Been working on it for several hours and can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong in the code.

    Thank you!

So much for “simplex,” huh? :o) I’ve tried a different template and tried using your instructions above but got some code messed up, I think. https://pizzashoppemancelona.com/wp/ trying to put pslogo.gif in there

Oh, great. I just moved some of my sites from a different host to my new GoDaddy account, thinking all was going to be wonderful… I hope I don’t have these problems, too.

I only built one site so far on GoDaddy, using WP, and in all truthfulness it was fine. Perhaps the size of the site had something to do with it. Mine is very basic, only a few pages, nothing big at all.

I do have a question – slightly afraid to ask because it’s probably going to earn a few laughs – but – is version 2.7 the same as 2.7.1?

Thanks so much for the reply. I was giving up hope that someone would be able to help me with this!

Actually, the database consists of a business name, contact person, physical address, mailing address, phone, type of business, website address, email address. While the database contains a few other fields, these are the only ones I would want to appear on the site.

I am not opposed to entering the information manually. So, I guess in a “refreshed” question, is there a plugin/module that is suitable for a database such as this, and one that would give me the ability to have a ‘map it’ button next to it (you know those sites that have a business name, along with a “map it,”, “email us,” “website link” buttons….

If I know these modules/plugins are available for this sort of thing, I’m ready to begin work on the site!!

    Thanks again.

Thanks for the votes. That’s three votes (plus mine makes four) for Linux. I’ll go that route for certain.

will I be able to upload a mailing list database (such as excel) in WP? Or, is there a plugin/module that is available to handle one?

I’ve read that WP is less vulernable than Joomla to hackers, so I am heavily leaning toward WP – but have to make sure it can also handle a mailing list. My membership database is in access/excel, just names & addresses. Is there a module/plug-in that is available with WP for a database?

If I install via Fantastico, and WP has an update down the road, will I be able to use Fantastico to do the upgrade? No problem doing a manual install – if there are benefits to doing so.

Trikaya, I just saw this thread and your response. I recently launched my first WP site. For some reason, when I am adding some posts and click on the (posted by) drop down box to choose a name, Admin is NOT one of the options. It defaults to one of the users – even when I’m logged in as Admin.

Hi Jockoe, I was able to get some help with this. This issue is resolved now – but not sure how to indicate that!!! Thank you!

hate to bump to top, but – am still stuck, and very discouraged. Any ideas, anyone?

What alternatives are you considering (in the line of software/CMS)

    Still stuck.

I’m on dial up at the moment; went back to the photo gallery page. The PicLens lens option is there. Clicked on it, and it appears something is loading. Anyone on high speed – can you check it out for me? Maybe it is working after all?

On the photo gallery page, where it says “View with PicLens” I prefer that it say 2008 Photo Gallery or something…

I’m stuck, and I’m tired from looking and getting no where. Any help would truly be appreciated. Thank you!

..forgot to mention, there is a View with PicLens option showing – just no link to the photos. Any ideas? thanks!

Hi Edie, good morning! I am back in my chatroom if you want to meet me there. Check email.

I’ve downloaded the plugin – still trying to figure out how to use it.

Still confused on a couple things, such as why the tags and “browsing by category” appear on the pages.

    Thank you, Moderator!

can you link me to an area that explains how I can add photo galleries? We have photos of our events we’d like to publish.

Got it; discovered the answer in another thread – by going into admin, settings, and reading – made my welcome page a static home page. Resolved!

    Hi Mr. Marco,

    Reference items above:

1- Can the calendar be an event calendar?

2- Well, yes and no. I already knew how to remove the “Read More” separator. But, one issue still not resolved. On “About Ashley” page, I have it open to comments, however, there is no “click here to submit your comments” link at the bottom. I don’t know why.

    3. Sigh. Would sure like to have an option to change fonts.

    4. In the Pages section, how can I add a link back to the home page? There’s a Home tab at the top, but can’t I put a link back to the home page in the PAGES category?

    5. Will want to add a photo gallery of last year’s event, too. Not sure where to begin with this one.

Thanks to you and ThisIsEdie for your help!
