I believe I’m looking for a language switcher plugin that is only specific to the posts, and not all posts will have translation available.

The plugin that gave me my issue was the WordPress Protectin Lite plugin. But I deactivated all them and turned them on one by one to see when the issue happened. Thats when I discovered which one it is.

If you are having the same issues deactivate all your plugins and then activate them one by one until you find the one that gives you the issue.

I got it figured out. One of my plugins was causing another error and once I disabled the plugin I could change the permalink and it updated correctly!

Not to self…ALWAYS CHECK YOUR PLUGINS!!! Thanks for your help Graynotgrey…you got me pointed in the right direction!

Update guys!!! I finally figured out it was one of my plugins along with the wrong coding in my webconfig files. I got the answer from..

If you’re using IIS and don’t have apache and mod-rewrite, you need to modify your web.config file.

Darn it…now that I went back and checked further…yes that did fix the blog/blog/ issue but NOW the permalinks do not go to the article and the page title still reads “Page not found >> article”.

Any ideas?

I have tried to access it through both ways and I get the same error.

All plugins are disabled currently so I don’t know if that is affecting this either.

I’m on a windows server so I don’t have a htaccess file. Is there another file I should be looking for on a windows server?

Now the page title in the “tab” says “Page not found >> article” but it finds the page fine. Should I just wait a bit for things to update?

You are correct in your assessment.

I am on the newest wordpress, plugins are disabled.
I did go back and try and create another new site, and it worked once I changed the theme in the settings to the correct theme. EXCEPT I still cannot access the dashboard for either of the new subsites.

I get the error the page is not redirecting properly for both of the new sites. Any idea’s?

I forgot to add that I can navigate to the new site I get a blank page. So I’m not sure if the theme is applying to the subsite or not.

I’m using the Atahualpa Theme By BytesForAll, Version 3.7.11

I did that and then my landing page blows up. It has to have the index.php in it but the link on the landing page dup’s it. But on all subsequent pages it is fine.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “older links” link it will go to “https://www.neogen.com/blog/index.php/Index.php/page/2/” but of course doesn’t exsist, but if you remove one of the index.php/ it will work and all the other links for forward and backward will work until you get back to the main index page then it doesn’t work.

Soo confused…any ideas?
