Thanks. I’ll watch for updates regarding APCu and take a look at our cache writes and reads.

For users of cloud databases like AWS RDS or Azure MySQL, this cache may need some guidance around database IOPS, since you have to explicitly provision more IOPS on those platforms, and the way this works has the potential to dramatically increase IOPS requirements for the database, as it is using it as an “L2” caching mechanism.

That does help. This is actually quite confusing. Between the plugin admin screens and the FB admin pages that have a spot for the RSS feed, I assumed that the plugin required some hybrid of RSS feed and API, but it isn’t clear when each of them get used.

In fact, it wasn’t clear to me at all that there was auto-publishing going on via the API until I looked at the article list in the Pages app, which is wildly different than the article list that appears in the RSS feed. Custom post types aren’t appearing in the RSS, but are appearing in Pages.

My current suspicion is a conflict with Co-Authors Plus. I have to test more to confirm.

We use ACF Pro on a high traffic site. The outage at advancedcustomfields.com has brought our site performance to its knees while it waits for a response from the server.

Hopefully someone is on top of this relatively soon. In the mean time, I’m going to see if I can hack together a way to turn off that call.

When this is all said and done, this license/upgrade check for pro needs to be re-architected to account for down time like this.
