Well, when I had more than just one post on the site, the previous and next links didn’t show. Since I posted my request for help, I deleted some older entries.

Okay, I figured out the problem. I went through and checked all the pages, and somehow the index page got changed. Still don’t know how that happened, but I’m working on fixing it.

I had that problem too. It’s probably a corruption of one of the files somewhere, though I don’t know which one. I managed to fix it by uploading all the WP files again. (Not reinstalling, just uploading all the files.)

Well, I’d already turned off the shopping cart, and was still having the problems. Turned off all the plug-ins I had on, still had the problem. I decided to check out the post.php file again. Turns out a ! got moved. Not sure how it got changed, as I didn’t change it myself. I forgot to check the last time the file was saved, before I uploaded the corrected file, so I won’t be able to track down when it happened.

The default category still wasn’t checked, so I went back in, checked the settings on the Writing tab under Options, then saved it, and the default is checked again.

Okay, looks like it’s a bug with the rich text editor. When I turn that off, the form works just fine.

Regardless, this is something that needs to be fixed so other people don’t spend hours like I did, trying to figure out what’s wrong.

Okay, it looks like I didn’t explain myself clearly, having used the wrong terminology.

I need to create a page that will sit in the root directory. It will be a php page that will call the header, etc., from the theme I’m using. The url address of the links page must be https://www.hartfeltproductions.com/links.php.
