Yes, I agree with everything you said there. I would be nice to have some sort of solution where the end-users didn’t have to log into WP and then also into the phonebook.

Is there a way to lock this down on the web server (or embedding it within the wp loop/creating a child template.. just a few shots in the dark, mind you) without causing that sort of situation? Code change in the PHP? Something. ??

I wasn’t able to find the code mentioned in the article in the current version of wp-touch (and the instructions were really clear). Not critical.

I decided it probably wasn’t secure in our environment to link to a file on our network share, even if our site is protected. I sent people an email instead, instructed them to pull up the file themselves from the network share, which they found easy enough to do.

It worked after I made our site trusted (thanks)! Not that I want to have to change the security settings in IE (we use 8) on our office PC’s.. I wish there was another way.

I’m looking for this, too. I know last year I was able to do this, but this year I am not. The only reason I know is that each May, we post an Excel spreadsheet on the network that managers use to sign their staff up for a 2-hour class time on one of three days. I found last year’s post and clicked on the Excel link. It just sits there looking silly now, where I know for a fact that it worked before… the sheet is populated and that’s the only way they would have gotten to it.

It would be great if someone had an answer.

It would be nice to be able to sort it. I’m putting up loads of new pdf documents and having to sort through stacks to 40 – 60 uploads per page to delete the ones which are now outdated.

There is probably an easier way I am just missing. ??

… where you have just clicked on the add media button and have gone to the gallery tab. I have only been able to get this to sort according to the date I uploaded the files.

I need the gallery window where I can add and delete files to be in alphabetical order so I don’t have to search through 30 docs to find the one I want to delete. Shortcodes are for pages or widgets, so this doesn’t fix my issue, unfortunately.

Same thing happened to me with the same plug-in update. I did the same thing with the wp-settings.php and it worked fine.

Just in case you’re still looking for a resolution, I would change ‘#side-left p {margin:0; padding:0;’} to be
‘#side-left p {margin:0; padding:0px 10px 10px 0px;}’

I’m assuming from the code that this is where your content is located.

What I’d like to know is where the log-in page appears? Should we be trying to login via wp-admin?

I’ve got a 2.9 WP installation. Somewhere between 2.7 and 2.9, WP did away with the private blog option…
